The ice cream is great. The place is cute. Staff is nice. What’s not so great, is the selection of flavors. This location, compared to other locations, lacks the variety shown at other locations. There’s no lemon, honey, peppermint, liquor flavors. It’s very boring choices.

I’m genuinely disappointed with the current state of Oberweis Dairy. It used to be my go-to spot, known for its delicious ice cream and inviting atmosphere. However, since the change in ownership, the prices have become exorbitant. The cost of a single scoop has increased dramatically overnight. Interestingly, I noticed that an old-fashioned sundae now costs less than a single scoop of ice cream, which is quite illogical. It seems the new management prioritizes profit over customer experience. It’s baffling that my ice cream order now exceeds the price of a full dinner. To add to that I noticed, their new “Valentine’s Day sundae” is priced at $25, which feels like highway robbery. I’m not sure who would pay that much. These changes are unfortunate and seem to be driving the business toward financial trouble once again. On top of that, the wait times have become unbearably long, and it looks like they’re seriously short-staffed, which only adds to the frustration.

I had a hot fudge sundae through the drive through and the fudge was great but I felt like the ice cream was too fake because when I got home to eat it (about 20 min) it was barely melted and the ice cream had a rubbery consistency to it. I appreciate that it barely melted but the rubber consistency just puts me off. It had whipped cream on it and a generic cherry and was in a nice sealed container so it didn’t spill and that was nice. Other then that I have always loved oberweis even if they are pricey.

I love the smell of waffle cones in the morning! That’s my thought when I enter. The ice cream is top-notch. A lot of the cooler items are priced similarly to chain grocery stores but of better quality.

Check out this adorable ice cream charm from the 1920s! It’s attached to a factory with its original neon signage—so cute! We had the most delicious sundaes, and it was such a great choice. You really can’t go wrong with this place—just wait until you try it!

I am not one to usually leave reviews, but the significant decline in the quality of service from Oberweis makes me feel as though this is necessary. I have been a regular at this location for multiple years now, but as of recently I have decided to take my business elsewhere. In the past couple months, every time I go here (specifically from when the change in ownership occurred) it has been incredibly understaffed… Along with this the prices seem to increase almost daily. I have heard these same complaints from others. With a decline in the service and raising prices I simply dont find myself wanting to come anymore… Hopefully this gets resolved.

Historically the best ice cream in Illinois. You have to try it at least once if you are visiting. For the locals, most of us have tried it and loved it. The milk is the most delicious I’ve had, creamy and full of taste. The banana splits are out of this world! Packed with all the delicious nuts and syrup you want. The lab here is amazing, as you can watch the process of making ice cream. Cows that feed the place with milk delivered by truck are the happiest cows alive, cruelty free. They deliver milk bottles in glass right to your house. The staff is very friendly and polite. Cleanliness is one of their number one concern. Parking is free and a drive thru is available for this location. Board games are available for those that like chess or battle stations! Come by and give it a go! 😉
