Accidentally happened upon Oakwood BBQ and so thankful we did!! We happened by on a Saturday they were open and hadn’t sold out yet. We’ve had a lot of BBQ and we agree it’s the best we’ve ever had! Cooked to perfection and you can tell the love is poured into every plate ❤️

None of that heathen unsophisticated ketchup stuff – and not awash in vinegar. Delicately seasoned, Consistently perfect. I smuggle quantities back to Arizona on a regular basis on every trip home to family. Out in the country a bit but conveniently on way to Ellis airport if you’re flying out. They are open only until they sell out. Cole slaw bland but otherwise – this is the epitome of eastern NC barbeque.
