My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday on Saturday. Once we were able to secure a reservation, we were excited! This was my first time here and I’ll be back. It’s lovely inside and the people are friendly and very attentive. I had the shrimp scampi, my boyfriend had the chicken saltimbocca. We shared the chicken saltimbocca meatball appetizer as well. The food is excellent, wonderfully done, this is the type of place where I’d want to try all the different options, as I’m sure they’ll be great.

First off, it was hard for us to get a reservation. We had to make it two and a half weeks in advance. But it was worth the wait! The service was great and very accommodating. The food was great. I had a steak that was cooked to perfection, and my girlfriend had a chicken parm without the parm, and she was very pleased. Our drinks were on point. I had an old fashioned and she tried a few different wines. Both were excellent! You will definitely need a reservation. Also, the atmosphere seems semi formal. I definitely wore jeans and felt a little under dressed. It is a nice little spot in little Italy Endicott!! We will be back. Lastly, the calamari is not breaded or fried, so be aware of that if you like your calamari like I do!

One of the best Italian food restaurants in the area. Such atmosphere!
You will climb a staircase to get there. You must have reservations. But, oh, is it worth it.
Any of the veal dishes are great. Chicken dishes too. We’ve never gone wrong with the featured appetizer. Try the Utica greens. Entrees come with a generous salad.
You can park in the lot across the street. Check out the street’s center line: think Italian flag.
Go here just for the ambiance alone.

TaWandTalk Food Review: Oaks Inn – A Culinary Celebration
Yesterday, I received some phenomenal news that called for a celebration & what better way to honor a win than, with an exquisite dining experience at Oaks Inn, the finest Italian restaurant in the Southern Tier region. Trust me, it’s TaWandTalk Approved! ❤️
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warm smile of hostess Anne Marie & truly treated like family. The atmosphere was inviting, setting the perfect tone for an exceptional evening. My waitress, Alina, was simply stunning & provided a world-class dining experience that I’ll cherish forever.
Bread & Olive Oil:
First up was the freshly baked bread served with herbs and olive oil. It was fluffy and light, almost like marshmallow pillows for your palate. I could have feasted on just that!
Course One – Chicken Soltimbocca Meatballs:
Next came the Chicken Soltimbocca meatballs, delicately infused with cheese, prosciutto, mushrooms, and a delightful wine sauce. Each bite was a symphony of flavors that left me wanting more.
Course Two – Caesar Salad:
Then, the Caesar salad arrived—crispy romaine hearts, perfectly shaved cheese, and the crispiest garlic croutons. Honestly, it was the best Caesar salad I’ve ever had. It was fresh, vibrant, and utterly satisfying.
Main Course – Homemade Lasagna:
The pièce de résistance was the homemade lasagna. Layered to perfection, with rich, savory flavors that transported me straight to Italy. Every forkful was pure comfort.
Dessert – Bourbon Banana Pie:
To cap off the night, I indulged in the bourbon banana pie. It was the kind of dessert that makes you smile with every bite—a sweet, boozy delight that was simply unforgettable.
With a total bill of $50.47 & a $50 tip for the exceptional service, I left Oaks Inn feeling elated. This restaurant in Endicott, NY, is undoubtedly a gem that I can’t wait to revisit.
Now, where should I head next for my next adventure? Suggestions, anyone?
One Love,
Ta’Wand

This has always been our go to place for 5 years of living here. If tonight had been our first I would never go back. While the food was excellent, the service was absolutely abysmal. Very disappointing. Was suppose to be a special occasion that turned into a very frustrating evening.

I have been eating here for over 50 yrs. The atmosphere is unique for this area. It’s on the second floor of a building built over 80 yrs ago. The restaurant is the original one and is still in the same family. It reminds me of many second story restaurants I have enjoyed in NYC. Food is always top, drinks are well and amply proportioned. Richard the owner along with his amazing kitchen side kick Anthony prepare the finest meals. The staff all though I hesitate to call them that, they are more like a family, make your night enjoyable. A great old style mahogany bar augments the atmosphere. Three words to end this ‘ ya gotta go’

Hostess was quite rude, short even with bartender, pouty, nonapologenic
Service was nice at the bar where we ate, food was excellent, you could tell customers felt lucky to be there. We hadn’t made a reservation so we ate at the bar

I ordered the gnocchi with meatballs and a spinach and sesame salad. The salad I liked a lot- fresh spinach (what’s up with ppl serving wilted, browned greens -_-) and tasty toppings. The gnocchi however was disappointing, we eat with our eyes first and the wet sauce was a turn off. Like a bad bagel the gnocchi was very plain yet sweet, it didn’t complement the sauce at all and the sauce had no flavor left but acid from the tomatoes. The meatballs were the highlight, tender enough and the flavor broke up the tomato sauce monotony

I brought my mom here for dinner and it was the most enjoyable experience. I heard that Oaks inn was good— but it entirely exceeded my expectations. We had an extremely attentive waitress, Veronica, who spoke about how she has loved working at Oaks Inn for the past couple years and knew everything about the resturant that we asked. She was so charming and the entire ambience of the resturant was so family-esque, classy, welcoming and transported me mentally to my grandmothers house for Sunday dinner. I ordered the chicken Caesar salad, which was incredible, and we also ordered their in-house made ice cream (PB and chocolate of course!!). I highly recommend going here if you’re in Binghamton/ Endicott area.
