Went here for the first time a few days ago and it was pretty good. I went with a few friends and we got the salmons and eggs as well as a waffle for the middle. Everything was really good and the staff were nice and helpful. Food came in 15-20 minutes and it cost around $25 per person. There is also a lot of parking as this place is really packed especially on the weekends.

Love places like this! Sadly in NJ the quality of diners has gone down in general – which is why i was so pleased to find this gem in the heart of oakland.
Even outside appearance already sets a positive vibe! Colorful, clean and bright.
Inside – also very classy and authentic. Staff is nice and all smiles! They have liquor for those craving some buzz with their meal!
Menu is a typical diner menu – not the encyclopedia one – but big and broad enough for anyone to find something of their liking.
I opted for a Philly chicken wrap with sweet potato! Excellent meal! Tasted great – above expectations!
Place was busy for a Thursday – that is a sign of a good restaurant!!
Certainly will visit again when i am in the area! Thank you

The food, staff and environment are amazing. Monica was our server and she was such a doll. Everyone else was amazing, too. The pancakes (and the rest of the food) were DELICIOUS. Fast service and entertainment to read on the walls while you wait. The entrance is heated, too…lovely touch!

This place is consistently great! I’ve been a few times, and my last visit on Monday was perfect—super quiet, no waiting, and a relaxed vibe. The platters were amazing, with perfect portion sizes, and the desserts are fantastic—you’ll definitely want to save room. What makes it really special is that it hits that sweet spot of good food at fair prices. It’s casual but still a little special, making it perfect for a midweek treat or just a laid-back meal with friends. Every visit has been enjoyable, and I keep coming back because the combination of food, portions, desserts, and pricing just works. Totally recommend if you want a solid, fuss-free dining spot with consistently tasty meals.

We really enjoyed our time here and will return.
The weather was perfect to take advantage of the outdoor seating area, which is really nice this time of the year and definitely recommended if you can use it.
The portions were fairly big, very tasty and felt like high quality ingredients, prices were average for the area (a bit more on the higher side for a diner, but I would call it an upscale diner).
As fit for a diner – huge menu with a lot of options.

Decided to stop here for lunch on a whim and was pleasantly impressed with the quality and quantity of food. I had a lunch special that included a soup or salad and a dessert. The lentil soup was very tasty. I ordered the farro salad with shrimp…delicious, fresh ingredients, and filling.

I had been wanting Mexican food and The Oakland diner did not disappoint me. The carnitas, eggs, cheese, and the sauce was beyond delicious. Not to mention the coffee ☕ was the best that I’ve had. To go bag not needed the waitress was amazing, the atmosphere, and service is the best. I can’t wait until I can go back

First thing first I LOVE whoever did the art work it’s just outstanding! Even the bathroom! Beautiful We can’t wait to come back to see the renovations finished and for the food of course!
I wish I wrote this before because I can’t remember the waitress name!
She was amazing for something we just asked if they had which was a bowl of fruit or oranges. My daughter devoured them, I almost did myself they were that perfect sweet orange you hope for when you peel one.
Anytime I see nachos in a menu it will be my go to since I like to order take out at times and every place does it differently. I’ll say 7/10. Layered portion great, not overloaded with chips, I wish it had just a bit more chicken, and it came with sides..some places don’t do this it would be a side charge.

Well lets start with the most obvious one, the food. Im not exaggerating when i say it is the blandest food you will ever taste in your life. Its horrendous. No amount of salt will save your meal. I got some chopped special thing and oh my god it was just a lump if ground beef with some onions on top that tasted like it was marrinated in water. It was horrible. I then returned it for the salmon and it was like dry jello that tasted like water. And the manager may seem like a nice guy but hes horrible. He had me pay for a meal that was wrongly written On the menu and tasted horrible. But one thing i will say is my waiter was very nice. She was very understanding as if she knew the food was bad. The manager just came up and said you should have known it was gonna be like that and forced me to pay for it and take it to go. Thats not how you run a business if you want people to come back and leave a good review. If your an old person that wants a calm old time diner vibe, then go ahead knock yourself out. If your hungry stay hungry it will be better I promise. Never again.

The food has been good here each time I have visited. The wait staff could be a little more friendly. The decor was different the most recent time I was in. It made it feel a little less “dinery”. This was not a bad thing, just different.
