I ordered the chicken sandwich which was presented with pickles and a lightly toasted brioche bun. I was supplied with all the sauces on the side and chose the garlic aioli. No chipotle mayo at the O&O! Scandalous! I’m a fan of light and fluffy buns and I was disappointed with the brioche. It was dense but it was buttery. The sandwich came with crispy fries which I asked to be upgraded to truffle fries. The fries weren’t soggy but they weren’t crispy either. Dusted with parsley and Parmesan they were flavorful but not really up to snuff. My dessert was a donut hole with sauces, and Tazo Earl Grey hot tea. Score for having Earl Grey! The donut holes were over cooked and had no real spark or flavor. A touch of cardamom would have at least brought them to some kind of life.
My waiter was pleasant, informative and perfumed!
Overall the Oak and Orchard is beautiful but the food I had mediocre at best. Disappointing because I watched the renovation progress and was eagerly waiting to give it a try. I was told they’d just had a new chef installed. I’ll try once more in a month with my husband. Perhaps by then things will be more impressive.
The food was pretty good and our wait staff were all excellent. It didn’t take a long time for our food to come out, which was nice. The donut holes we had for dessert were fantastic.
I’ll be back, but maybe not on a Friday night.
Dessert was the apple crisp and the peanut butter cup pie. We probably should have split one dessert but we really wanted to try more. I can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu! All around I recommend this place.
My wife and I went there for a night out and had an awesome experience. It has the best of both worlds; great for an intimate dinner, a casual night out with the kids or a post-little league game debrief.
The food was unexpectedly good, with apps ranging from simple fare to seared ahi tuna and delicious desserts to finish off. I grabbed a flight of local brews that was perfect!
The owners are down to earth people who really want you to have a great experience and are open to any feedback. Their own kids were there and politely showed us around the restaurant.
Looking forward to many future date nights at Oak and Orchard!
We chose to sit at the bar because there were reservations coming in according to the hostess. While having conversation with the hostess food runners and waiters with drinks were squeezing by. Definitely a disaster if it hasn’t already happened.
The bartenders are good. It’s the hardest job in the house. It’s unorganized. They are not following serve safe guidelines. A very cluttered and unorganized set up.
2 people. Ordered a drink and the ricotta meatball appetizer. I was excited thinking I might learn to make a meatball a different way. And I did. Restaurant Depot makes a decent frozen meatball that you can drizzle ricotta on it and sell it for $15.
The scallops and risotto was well done. We opted out of the spinach. (Why does 98%of the dishes have spinach?) The short ribs were a very good presentation of chuck roast cut and cooked the right way. Albeit a bit salty.
I’m hopeful for this place and I will give it another chance maybe for lunch.
Joe was our server.. I told Joe I was going to get him a name tag by the way of tape and a sharpie so everyone would know his name . He was fabulous!!!!on point with everything and attentive. The runners were also very nice when bringing out dishes. Everyone was smiling and very friendly. For an appetizer we had the crudite plate. It was as you would expect and described on the menu. Dinner was steak tips for me, cooked perfect and savory. Full of flavor. My aunt had the baked haddock which also had so much flavor and was amazing, also cooked perfectly.
For drinks I had a gin drink with muddled strawberries/blackberries and basil.. I forgot the name of it, but very nice.. nice hint of basil in the drink from the fresh basil leaves..
The only disappointment was for my 80 year old aunt… she will only have a ‘cocktail’ if she goes out and loves her ‘southern comfort manhattan with dry vermouth’… unfortunately they do not have southern comfort and she won’t drink it with any other…. Her 2nd choice was moscato…. They did not have that either.. hopefully that will be added to their list as they get into full swing.. aunt Margie wants to come back weekly.. ( may be like every few weeks or monthly)… but we look forward to our next visit!!!! Well done Shayna, husband, Christie, and all of the staff.. oh and reservations recommended!!!!!
Staff at the bar were nice but running around crazy. Tons of open tables but they were all “reserved”.
