Well for my first experience of this restaurant, I was a bit surprised. We came during Valentines Weekend, they had a fixed menu. The fixed menu was a bit strange, considering it was full of shellfish/ fish options and not shellfish allergy friendly. For starters we had a soup and salad, the salad was good but the soup was creamy and we aren’t dairy friendly. For the main course, we had both chose steak options .. we both asked for medium and it was overcooked. The lobster tail was cold, the mashed potatoes weren’t smooth and so chunky we had to chew bites of the mashed potatoes. Atmosphere and service was good, do I think it was worth the $350 bill ? Absolutely not. Would I try this place again ? Probably on a regular night but not in a rush to see it again.

Went for a birthday dinner, and man everything on the menu looked amazing. Food was fantastic… definitely will be returning for date night!
Small restaurant with a great atmosphere and not overly crowded.
Service was awesome.
We had the blood orange thing cocktail, fried green tomatoes, Cesar salad, salmon Oscar, Mac and cheese, filet Cajun blue with scallop potatoes.

It was our first time eating there tonight for my boyfriend’s birthday! Our server , Gabe, was phenomenal. The food was superb. And the rest of the staff was so polite. There isn’t a lot of seating, but I love that personally. It matches the atmosphere of the restaurant and allows the servers to be very attentive. 10/10 experience! OH and their bread service??? ONE IN A MILLION. Definitely one of my top restaurants for a nicer eat.

This was probably THE best meal we’ve ever had!! We were on vacation in Birmingham and made reservations at the Oak House before leaving home. Best decision!! From the appetizer to dessert everything was absolutely amazing! The service was phenomenal! Our waitress, Liz, was super friendly and attentive! The manager, Tristen, even came to our table and chatted with us. The atmosphere was chic and romantic. We ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, for entrees my husband had the filet and I ordered the red snapper, and we had the chocolate bunt cake for dessert. Everything was seasoned and cooked to perfection! My husband wanted to go back and hug the chef! If you are in the Birmingham area, a trip to The Oak House is an absolute must. I foresee us making a special trip back here just to eat at this restaurant!

My wife and I wanted to go and treat ourselves and boy, did we pick a fantastic place to do it! Everything on the menu sounded so good, but we had to just pick one and go back another time and try more. Our waitress was great, the mocktails we got were fantastic, and the food was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Everything was well worth and we will be back, just maybe on a payday!

The location adds to its charm, and the chef deserves special recognition for delivering such outstanding dishes. Wanted to try something new for a random date night, and boy were we impressed! I think we’ve found our new favorite restaurant in Birmingham, and quite possibly one of the top ten places we’ve been to in the U.S. The food was amazing and prepared perfectly despite all my special requests. They even concocted a special mocktail for me that was just perfect (which is very rare since I’m very picky about my flavor preferences). Tristan, our server, was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us some great recommendations, which was helpful as this was our first visit there. Both our server and the kitchen were very accommodating to all of our requests. This place was upper-level, but didn’t feel stuffy, pretentious or intimidating. It gave off a relaxed, neighborhood vibe that made you want to stay and visit even longer.
We ordered the best dessert and even though we were stuffed, that extra one bite was totally worth it. The price was a bit more than expected, but by the end of the night – experiencing the food, the service, the ambiance – it was justified. We would gladly spend that much again for a great night (and not just for a splurge or special occasion, but any day of the week!) There was little I can think of that could stand much improvement – perhaps a more welcoming hostess, but that seemed just due to a lack of experience I think. Other than that, it was a perfect night.

The two best things on the menu would have to be the Crab Cake and Pork Belly appetizers. Every bite was juicy and full of flavor! I highly recommend. Great service and great atmosphere, too!

My wife and I visited the Oak House restaurant for the first time on Jan 21st to celebrate our 33rd Anniversary. Wow was it great I ordered the 8 oz filet mignon with scalloped potatoes and my wife had the Tomahawk pork chop and we were both just amazed how awesome both our selections were. We then finished off a great evening with the carrot cake which had an Oak House spin to it warm was delicious. Throw in the amazing service Gabe gave us during our dining experience and we had a perfect night. The owner Travis Grappo was amazing as well checking in on his customers making sure they were all having a great dining experience. We live in Chelsea, AL and we will be back many times in moving forward. This restaurant has wow factor for sure!
