The French dip at Capriotti’s is the kind of sandwich that makes you pause mid-bite and think, okay… this is serious.
The beef is the star: tender, slow-roasted, and sliced just right so it practically melts into the bread. Every bite is rich and savory without being heavy, like they’ve mastered that balance between indulgent and comforting. The roll deserves its own applause too: perfectly crusty on the outside, soft inside, and strong enough to soak up the au jus without falling apart. That first dip? Pure magic.
And then there’s the au jus: deep, beefy, and packed with flavor. It’s not an afterthought; it’s essential. Dipping the sandwich transforms it from “really good” to unforgettable, adding warmth and richness that ties everything together beautifully.
What really seals the deal is consistency. Capriotti’s doesn’t overcomplicate it; they focus on quality ingredients and execution, and it shows. The French dip feels classic, satisfying, and expertly done, like comfort food elevated to crave-worthy status.
If you’re even considering a French dip, Capriotti’s isn’t just a good choice… it’s the choice. One sandwich in, and you’ll be planning the next visit before you’re done with the first.

This has been my favorite place for sandwiches for some time. The hot Bobbie is fantastic any time of year. The reason for my review is that I came on Christmas Eve 1:30 for lunch. They were only supposed to be open until 1:00, but the manager graciously served me. What he didn’t know was that my mom had suddenly passed away just 48 hours before. The hot Bobbie was the only thing that sounded good. They didn’t know they were giving me more than a sandwich. I can’t recommend this place enough.

Nice looking store and selection of sandwiches. Went downhill after ordering, 20 minutes for a cold sandwich at 1 o’clock on a Sunday. Employee makes herself a sandwich and sits down to eat.. order taker doesn’t bother calling my name when the order is finally ready, continue waiting until I go up and ask about my order. Wagyu sandwich, huge bun, meat portion small, little flavor. Had higher expectations.

Stopped in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Service was friendly and quick and helpful with placing our order. The sandwiches were made as ordered and all toppings were fresh and generous. Half sub was the perfect size for lunch. The store carries a good selection of beverages, including Stubborn Sodas. Nice chip and dessert assortment available at the counter. Dining area and restrooms were clean. Staff was professional and it seems this location does a lot of to-go orders. The employees were very friendly, greeting everyone and quickly getting the to-go orders out the door. I have had other Capriotti’s and this location made a much better sandwich than my previous experience.

This location lacks leadership. 45 minute ticket times is simply unacceptable. Three people staffed that are chasing their tail and trying to keep their head above water. In the time we waited for our food 15 plus people shared in the exact same experience. The guy who served us our food apologized profusely. Offered us free sandwich cards that ended up being expired by a whole year. Whoever is the owner is failing these people. Simply disappointing.

30 minutes for a salad and this is the 2nd time it took that long. As the manager for my money back and he couldn’t help because I ordered it thru the app. Just…wow!

Couldn’t be bothered to make the sandwich without lettuce as requested…just partially scraped it off. Instead off bowls of soup we received 3-4oz in bottoms of medium cups ….never had bad service here before but after sending my wife back to remedy and being told that’s was acceptable to them I decided to post here. It’s a shame really. What’s going on at your store Norma?

Delicious sandwiches, clean restaurant and friendly staff. My friends got Philly cheese steaks, one chicken one beef, I got the wagu slaw be jo, all were delicious but I was expecting a hot sandwich for the wagu and it is a cold sandwich, was really delicious but just a heads up! I can’t wait to go back! Want to try the Thanksgiving sandwich (called the Bobby)! So excited they’re closed to me!

I ordered a Philly and it has no mushrooms although I ordered more. And there was barely any cheese on it. And the meat was completely over peppered. I didn’t think it tasted good. And they made everyone sandwich before mine even though I ordered first. I waited a really long time.

Very disappointed. I ordered the Capastromi sandwich (small = 8inch). Sandwich was just under $14.00. a small amount of weak pastrami with little or no Russian dressing overwhekmed by Coleslaw and bread. I won’t be going back.
