Yeah this place may need to take it back to the drawing board. The lady that took my order was nice, but it looked like they may have been under staffed. The service was a bit slow. The atmosphere was clean for the most part, but lacked seating. I understand it’s not a dine in restaurant but it’s important to have at least a 5 customer bench in the waiting area for your customers that are supporting you. It was an open kitchen. From the looks of they are partially using it as storage. Just not a good look. The food…smh. The Mac and cheese was extremely overcooked, with the darkest orangish cheese I’ve ever seen. Totally flavorless. The pecan pie was good. The crust to nut to filling ratio was a thumbs up. But portion size to price was a thumbs down. The rib tips had a nice flavored BBQ sauce and very tender. But if there’s even a such thing, they were too tender, in a way that makes the meat almost seem like it was boiled partially before put on the grill. It’s like I was eating a roast. With good BBQ. You want some caramelized fat areas with slightly singed edges, with the gristle still being connected to the meat that requires a good nibble. This wasn’t it.

I ordered a Rib dinner. When I got home and looked at my food. It was nothing but Fat and Grease. Even the Sauce had a layer of Oil. The Meat was so soft and Nasty. I WILL Not order anything else from This Business. This is my opinion and experience

Wonderful experience at O.T.’S Up-N Smoke BBQ! Located in Battle Creek, Michigan, this bbq is known for the awards and bringing smoke to the city! Great menu items, and I look forward to trying more.
The food was okay. There was lovely smoked on the chicken and ribs, but honestly, it lacked flavor. I’m not a big sauce person, but if you are, the bbq sauce would make up for the flavor. Great smoke!
The service was great! They explained the menu clearly and were very kind in serving the customers.
The atmosphere was awesome! There were trophies and decor the screamed bbq. All of the decor was well put together.
O.T.’S Up-N Smoke BBQ is a great bbq space. I’m looking forward to trying other menu options and getting that great smoke!

Barbeque rib tips have great flavor and O.T.’S sauce is superb, but the rib tips need to be a little more tender and not so tough, so they fall off the bone.
I don’t like to eat ribs that constantly stick in your teeth, I don’t like to fight with my food…
The cornbread was slightly dry like it was a day old. The spaghetti was tasteful.

I was passing through the area and wanted to stop at a local place for food along the way. Honestly, a great value for the price. I feel it’s rare to be able to get a decent meal under $10 anymore but I was able to here (minus a drink). I asked for a suggestion and the worker was very helpful and suggested putting the sauce on the side for me as I’d be in my car. Waited a few minutes only because the fries were being made fresh and they tasted great. The pulled pork sandwich was great, a little dry because I had it separate from the sauce but still really good and could really get the smoky taste in it. If anyone wants something quick and for a good price, I would recommend giving this a shot. I hope your experience is like mine.

I decided to try OT’s, because I enjoy trying new places. I was not disappointed. The catfish was lightly battered with corn meal, it was crispy outside, flavorful and tender inside. I ordered the meal, it comes with your choice of 2 sides. I ordered collard greens and cole slaw. My first bite of my greens transported my mouth to Heaven. Fully cooked, but not mushy, these greens came with crispy bits of bacon and a ton of flavor. If you like a sweet cole slaw, OT’s has it, my husband enjoyed it very much. I’m looking forward to trying more items on their menu.

Really expensive for the quality of food you get. Just under $60 and Everything tasted like my dinner was made either the night before or that morning and baking under a light all day. Barbecue sauce was like water. Mac n cheese was not good and was a sticky ball of noodles. There “award winning” ribs were super dry I had to wait to get home to put our own sauce on it to finish it. The only thing that I could somewhat eat was the pulled pork and thats because it was floating in water in the container they gave me. It was basically soup. Will not be going back.
