I had the flank steak with a Demi glaze that literally melted in your mouth. My husband had the swordfish over risotto special with a Parmesan cream sauce. I am not usually a swordfish fan, but this was so moist and delicious. I’m hopeful. It’s on the menu for the next time we go to dinner here.!

My wife and I and two friends ate dinner at 7:45 pm last Sunday. Our server was personable and attentive. Unfortunately it took well over an hour for us to receive our meal. The kitchen was obviously overwhelmed by the volume of customers that day. The biggest issue was the meals. One in our group tasted the halibut entre and found it inedible. Another in our group tasted the halibut and concurred. They were offered a substitute meal, but they did not want everybody to wait 20 minutes while everybody was done with their meals. We were presented a full bill for all 4 meals. We objected and were told it was policy because we were offered a substitute meal. We asked for a manager and with some meager apology, the meal was taken off the bill. It should not be like pulling teeth to not pay for a bad meal!!!! Other comments on the meals: mashed potatoes were cold on all meals, the duck was dry and the cod was soggy and not firm. We will not be back.

Beautiful looking restaurant, lovely ambiance. Our waitress started out great but peetered out. She forgot our second round of drinks which we ordered before our meal arrived. We had to remind her and ended up getting our drinks after we already ate all our meal. The filet special was amazing however! Great flavor! I got the vegetable pad thai. The dish was super tasty but it was definitely not pad thai. It was more spicy soy, it was good but not what I was anticipating. I will try this place again as all the O’s restaurants are usually fabulous.

A pleasant surprise tucked into an inn in scenic Wolfeboro. The menu is far from revolutionary, but the dishes are well-executed and worth a visit. Fine elevated American fare with some twists. Try the Orange Chicken, the Escargot, and the fries.

Almost a great experience

First time visitor. Anniversary dinner with my wife so I was hoping for a very very memorable experience. In making reservations, was overwhelmed by the politeness and courtesy of both the hostess, Patti, and the front desk innkeeper staff person, named Shannon. This first impression was in dramatic contrast to our actual dinner experience.

When checking in for our 7:00 PM reservation, there was a back up at the hostess stand. Patti appeared to be doing everything on her own, and had no greeting assistance from additional staff. After being seated, things started to fall apart.

Though Patti had prepared and presented a bottle of our select white wine at the table, my preference for a cocktail was the start of our service issues. Possibly due to a back up at the bar, my cocktail wasn’t delivered to my table for at least 20 minutes. It was apparent that they were short staffed this evening, and the wait staff was being assisted by bussers who were trying to help.

It was clear that the wait staff was overwhelmed, and that the bussers weren’t necessarily trained to properly assist.

A request to have our wine put on ice at the table was met with a “deer in the headlights look”, as if it was out of the ordinary. The wine requested in advance was in a bucket without ice.

We ordered a dessert to share, vanilla bean crème brûlée, which was tasty. At the same time, I ordered an after dinner drink, that arrived 10 minutes after we finished our dessert.

The crowning blow, was when a busser came by when I was in the middle of my after dinner drink, served 10-15 mins after our dessert, and asked if we would like dessert. I had to remind her that we had already been served dessert. It was clear that the right hand did not know what the left hand was doing.

I attribute this to being short staffed. In addition, it’s clear that there needs to be more training for bussers who are assisting the wait staff. Patti was friendly and certainly open to feedback and advice. I appreciate that.

The food was certainly tasty. We recommend the bistro chips, and for an entrée, both the stirfry with ahi tuna, and the steak tips & frites. The drinks were also good, but as implied above there was a disconnect between orders and promptness of service at the bar.

We might return, but it is so competitive in Wolfeboro with other great restaurants. We will probably first try other venues to see how they compare.

Food was better than average. Loved the barn.
Not to complain but the AC was pretty cold or blowing rate on us. Actually saw another couple leave because of it. Service was average but maybe they were just too busy.

Dont let the lack of crowds fool you. The food is consistently excellent. I had the haddock as usual and Dad had Lamb chops. My dinner salad was awesome! His asian chicken soup was a bit spicey for him. We would go back any time!

Blackend salmon was too salty. Server offered to have another cooked and then came back and said it would be the same as the blackened mix would be the same – too salty. No point.
Disappointing once again.

We went to o bistro on New Year’s Eve. It was a limited menu which was fine, but we didn’t get our wine until the third course. Everyone else received bread but us
We come here every time we are in Wolfeboro.
Will continue to do so.

Modern and refined, I loved every app, entree, & dessert. (apps: brussels spouts, orange chicken, bistro chips. entree: fried rice, roasted chicken, fish n chips) and to complete the 5 star experience – a wonderful staff (shout out Matt & Patti!) also, both sangrias 10/10
