Be warned that the parking lot can be a bit nuts (this place is between Menchies and Cava, and they all share very few spaces), and they don’t serve gluten-free pizza—but their GF salads are a great alternative, and the atmosphere and staff are amazing, so we’ll definitely be back!!
Yeah, I know…
So I said,”Well those are the ones you are familiar with”, and he contradicted me multiple times to emphasize no pizza restaurant cooks vegetables. Service at its worst from the General Manager. Then after eating 2 slices they come and try to collect payment. Poor customer service.
FYI There are restaurants that do have a cooking process that ensures all toppings are cooked evenly and well done including the vegetables. You don’t belittle or insinuate the customer is a liar or eating pizza for the first time unless you are told such.
The pizza itself is on the high end of mediocre. It’s definitely better than your Pizza Hut, Marcos, Dominos tier, but it falls a bit short of the next tier up–places like Mellow Mushroom, Fellini’s, or Blue Moon.
If it’s been years since you’ve had “New York Style” pizza, this may scratch the itch, but it isn’t quite there, either. The slices are definitely big and foldable, but the dough doesn’t quite hit the mark, and the toppings don’t stay adhered as well as they should. Possibly the pizzas aren’t getting enough reflected heat from the top of the oven.
The service is absolutely top notch for this level of dining. The servers are available, but not overbearing. They check back in at reasonable intervals and seem to genuinely enjoy their job. The restaurant itself is clean and well-lit.
The place always ahve good customer service and clean. I highly recommend this place. #pizza #nycpizza #food
The dine-in atmosphere is enjoyable with a great vibe and a clean, open kitchen, and the draft Peroni is a refreshing touch. However, there’s a clear opportunity for improvement in service (our waitress seemed more focused on her phone) and management (the TV was oddly stuck on local news when sports would have been preferred).
While it’s a solid spot for the suburbs, expanding the menu to include more traditional Italian dishes like Chicken Marsala and Veal Parmesan. Also, adding a bar area would significantly elevate the overall experience, especially for those waiting on to-go orders.
I grew up in CT, right outside the city(NYC) and we always had killer pizza (famous Pepe’s!!).
We’ve tried a lot of the usual pizza joints here and we just haven’t found the one that really does it for us. But let me tell ya NYC Pizza Co gets it perfectly. The great friendly service, the vibe and the food… check, check and check! The sauce alone is insanely good… it could stand on its own. I wish they sold it in jars. I’d love to take some home.
Today we had the char and cup pepperoni w/ ricotta and hot honey. Holy canoli was it delicious. Such a unique combo. I’m already looking forward to the left overs for dinner.
Even though it’s a 22 minute drive for us… it’s absolutely worth it! So yeah, 2 thumbs up!
PS – I think Portnoy needs to pay you guys a visit!! 🙂
