Hubby found this place for our date night (because he knows how much of an Indian food fanatic I am). I was not disappointed. It was clean and the atmosphere was nice, on the smaller side, so that caused the entrance door to be super drafty and cold each time someone walked in, we felt the breeze. That is a very minimal complaint that can be overlooked due to the quality of the food and service. I ordered the chicken palak (spicy), roti, and butter naan. I am very picky with chicken and it had a very nice texture and not dry, the spice level was on point. Usually when I order spicy at other places, it isn’t quite spicy enough, but they nailed it. They gave us a small cup of their homemade hot sauce and hubby said it was very good. I wasn’t a fan of the roti, I personally thought it didn’t have that flavor and thickness that I enjoy. The butter naan was great. The hubby ordered butter chicken (spicy) and he enjoyed it very much. They did get served in to go dishes and I’m not really a fan of that when dining in but it also was convenient when you are ready to leave. The portions were a nice size as well. Average pricing. Definitely going to go back and try some more dishes! Date night for the win and extra kuddo points to my wonderful husband.

Came here because we saw the sign for the Indian buffet. It did not disappoint. $20 for all you can eat. The food was tasty and they had dishes with chicken, lamb and goat. The buffet included regular or garlic nan, salad and rice.
Give them a try!

First time trying NYC Indian Grill and it was an amazing experience! We got the Chicken Tikka Masala and Malai Kofta and both were really delicious, but the Chicken Tikka was the standout. Really well developed flavors. The service was also really wonderful! They were kind, friendly, and attentive. This place is mainly a takeout spot so if there is any critique it would just be that the meal was served to us in takeout containers, but that’s more just a note than a critique! I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for good Indian food in the stroudsburg area!

This is authentic Indian food !!!

We are very impressed about the quality of the food and the superb service of our host Miss Anousha . She was very accomodating and explained to us their menu which was perfect considering that this was our first time.

Food was very tasty and flavourful and would gladly recommend it to everyone.

We will definitely be back as we found this gem in a very accessible area of Main st.

I don’t think I’ve ever had onion pakodas as crispy as the ones served in this establishment. I am genuinely floored.. I dont want my mom making them anymore. I think i will come to this place for my pakode fix all the time. Wow!! The mutton biryani was amazing, with a flavorful raita and spicy spicy chutney. Everyone give it a try!!

NYC Indian Grill located on Main St in downtown Stroudsburg, Pa. I’ve been here 2 or 3 times since they opened and this time I ordered the Shrimp Curry and Butter Chicken; both come with white rice on the side (garlic naan is separate). The food is made to order, has so much flavor and hearty. This order fed 3 people comfortably and cost $20-$30. Their menu is huge – including biryani, vegetarian options and deserts. Best authentic Indian food across three counties!

NYC Indian Grill has delicious and authentic Indian food the best in The Poconos bar none. I’ve eaten at Tandoori Palace (Tannersville) and Spice Kitchen and Spice Route and this beats them in both taste, and authentic flavor. The fish curry was delicious with the right amount of coconut and spice. The Lamb vindaloo was tangy and succulent with the right amount of heat. Garlic and chilli nan is a must!

Excellent Indian food right on Main. Clean restaurant, great atmosphere, friendly staff, plenty of seating and reasonable prices. They even have a $20 buffet! Wonderful selection of cakes and baklava made in-house. Couple doors up from the Sherman and open until 11 so they’re perfect for a bite after a concert.

As a first-timer to Indian cuisine, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect, but NYC Indian Grill has officially made me a fan for life. The experience was absolutely fantastic from start to finish.
I ordered the Lamb Sheesh Kabob, and it was a total standout. You can tell immediately that the meat is incredibly fresh. They have truly nailed the flavor profile perfectly; the spices were vibrant and balanced without being overwhelming.
If you are looking for high-quality, authentic flavors and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to be. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.
