Number one will not disappoint, it’s the only place we eat Chinese food. Well cooked food with restaurant quality, the rice is just right not salty. The chicken is tasty without the need to over season it, but get the ribs or rib tips are delicious and the Lo mein with shrimp in garlic sauce amazing. They have seafood, egg rolls , crab dragoon with dipping sauce and more. What makes this place amazing the staff they pride in how they cook and serve their customers.

They refused to shut the door, it was bitter cold and rainy,making it really uncomfortable to sit and eat inside.
We ordered and said we would be staying to eat. When our order was ready, I thought our food would be plated and ready to take to our table, instead it was bagged up and when I explained we were staying to eat, the man behind the counter just pushed the bag towards me and disregarded me.
We were in town to see a concert and thought we’d sit and have a meal before going. I will say that aside from the cold & damp environment and the dismissive counter guy, the food was delicious. I enjoyed it,even after having to set it all up on the table ourselves.

I had beef with mushrooms and vegetables(so flavorful and tender)and wonton soup the broth was also flavorful and warmed me up nicely. My husband had chicken lo mein and he said it was also delicious and flavorful. My only complaint about the food would be: I asked for no scallions in my wonton soup-I didn’t get any scallions but they didn’t put any pork in it either, maybe just an oversight.

Don’t come to this place, the service is horrible, they are not clean and they don’t even hide it, the girl at the counter was rude and not friendly at all.
And they also don’t accept credit cards, I think we all know the reasons, the place is dirty and expensive for a place like this, first and last time.

My very first time ordering food. Orange chicken was delicious! Fresh ingredients and mouthwatering presentation. The price was perfect for the portion. I will be ordering from Number 1 Restaurant from now on! One minus is that although there was lots of seating, it was very cold inside the restaurant. I would not order food to stay.

This is most likely the best Chinese food that I have had in Middletown. I have been coming here for over a decade, and I must say (at the time of this post), lately the food has been a hit or miss. Anyhow, when it is a hit, it is quite tasty. The staff behind the cash register are very friendly and efficient. I have used their catering service once, and it was great! Overall, in spite of the few bad times in which food has not been that great, I will still keep coming back in search of the times that the food is phenomenal.
