A very enjoyable, relaxed environment on the Hilton Waikoloa Village resort. A bit pricey, but tasty “foody” Italian meals can be enjoyed here. No reservation needed, but it gets busy around sunset time.

The Vibe:
The location is the highlight here. It offers a great view for sunset, making it a beautiful spot to end the day.
Service: It gets very crowded, so the staff was busy, but they managed the flow well enough given the volume.
The Food:
Appetizer (Winner): We tried the Octopus appetizer, and honestly, it was the best part of the meal. For me, the appetizer was better than the main dish.
Main: We ordered the Chicken Pesto Pizza. It was decent, but didn’t quite live up to the quality of the starter.
Crucial Tip:
Reserve on OpenTable! Do not try to just walk in. This place fills up fast for the sunset hours, and having a reservation saves you a lot of stress.
Verdict:
A solid spot for dinner on the property. Come for the sunset and the appetizers, just make sure you book ahead.

We were out on a walk and wandered through the Hilton on our way back (we were staying at a nearby condo) when we stumbled upon Nui Italian. It smelled amazing and looked worth a stop, so we popped in and ordered salads and a pizza for an early dinner—late for us, considering we’re still on East Coast time… yum!

The salads were fresh, and the service was spot-on. The pizza? Pretty good! Not the “OMG best pizza ever,” but let’s be honest—you’re in Hawaii. You’re not there to hunt down world-class pizza. You’re there for the Pacific Ocean and everything it has to offer.

That said, you’ve gotta love these little spots that fill your belly in between all the adventuring.

Prosciutto pineapple thick Roman crust pizza was expensive but tasty, just too much bread crust. Menu says we could order 1/2 but waitress said no. I had a glass of pinot noir that was excellent, service was excellent, dessert disappointed as it was a tiramisu in a glass and was more like a chocolate mousse with a devolved sponge cake of two bites. Chef should do better for the price. Sitting outside was beautiful at sunset, but disappointed by the flying insects that were pesty. One pizza, one glass of wine, one dessert, tip $90+ so in conclusion not what was expected more disappointing. The menu needs a few basic dishes and less pretentious. There will always be a walk to this restaurant.

We are staying on property and there is only 1 option for room service from 5-9pm, Nui. But gosh is it delicious! We ordered the Margherita pizza and the spaghetti and meatballs and they were both spectacular! Those meatballs were so juicy and flavorful! The pasta is prepared in a way that makes it drier than what I am used to, but the delicious sauce and meatballs made up for it! My only complaint about the pizza is that I would love more basil, but that is just me. We also got the risotto and sadly we cannot recommend it. It was hard as a rock by the time it arrived and the flavor of Parmesan completely overpowered the dish.

We also had tiramisu for dessert and wow was that good! It came in this cute plastic cup and it really hit the spot! The entire meal was delicious! We will eat there during our stay!

We had a very disappointing experience.
We were still eating when the waitress brought us the bill without us asking. She said we could continue, but different staff kept coming back to ask if we were finishing. We were not even asked whether we wanted dessert or needed more time.

On top of that, there were flies inside the restaurant all night, even though we were seated indoors. Overall, the experience felt rushed and uncomfortable.

We had a sit down dinner, spaghetti and meatballs, and that was good. Couple of days before that she’d ordered a marguerite pizza and it was OK. It came on focaccia bread. OK to try once but I went back tonight and ordered the “meat lovers” pizza and it came on foccacia bread again. The lady said they gave her the option of a crust but this time there was no mention of crust choice. The focaccia bread sucks all the moisture out of the ingredients and leaves you with bread. Totally sucked and the price is outrageous. I get the island thing and prices but this was ridiculous. I called them to voice my complaint and they said they were so sorry but that’s how it comes. I didn’t know I had to read the fine print when ordering pizza. Avoid this place. It’s nice for a drink and real food but their pizza business is totally the worst.

I am honestly shocked at how many negative reviews Nui received – it honestly made me a bit nervous to try, however when you fly in late and it’s one of your only options unless you want to leave the resort complex, you opt for convenience. My husband and I both ordered pizzas, I ordered a traditional Neo and my husband a Roman style – we were both blown away! The crust was outstanding – chewy and delicious and the sauce combined with the toppings was absolutely delicious. I also enjoyed a Limoncello martini (or two) and those were also outstanding. Our server, Manuel, was kind, courteous, and friendly. If you’re staying at the Hilton “complex” I highly recommend you give it a try – we loved it!

Cara Overall
Pizza was delicious and the carbonara was okay. Service was not great and the atmosphere was not great since there’s kids on tables, crawling all over the floor, running around, screaming.

It is on a resort so that makes sense but if you’re looking for a quiet romantic, nice dinner place, this is not it.

It’s also quite expensive, pastas over $40.

We did not make a reservation and only hat and short wait about 5 min for a table for 2 ar 730pm. Relaxing upscale but casual island dining. Great wine selection and pasta portion was enough to have leftovers.
