Reviews
Our servers struck the perfect balance—attentive without hovering. They took the time to ask about our occasion, walked us through the menu, and patiently answered every question. For a first visit, that level of care made a big difference.
We started with Nowak’s Shrimp, which was light and refreshing, setting the tone for the rest of the evening. The highlight was the 32 oz Cowboy Ribeye, cooked medium and shared between us. It was tender, flavorful, and truly memorable. To round out the meal, we ordered broccoli, fondant potatoes, and corn with bacon and jalapeños, all served family style. Each side complemented the steak perfectly.
From beginning to end, the experience felt thoughtful and genuine. The service was seamless, the food outstanding, and the setting far more charming than you’d expect from the outside. We left feeling celebrated, and without hesitation, I’d recommend Nowak’s to anyone looking for a special night out. We’ll definitely be back.
There was no way I was going to stand around getting teased by passed hors d’oeuvres all night without showing I knew my way around a steakhouse. I came ready. Brought my best companion — my wife — so we could both enjoy the evening with full hearts and full plates.
We ordered with intent. I had my eyes on my favorite cut: a ribeye done right. And I made sure to leave room next time for the bone-in cowboy. It’s a return I’m already planning for. After 30 years of becoming a man who has a taste for many indulgences and opulent pleasures, it felt right to close the evening with a personal touch — Chef Nowak’s special cut, just for me and mine.
The service? Excellent. Polished but warm. From the kitchen to the table, everything was delivered with care and confidence. I even had to resist going back for more of those delicious sliders (I’m watching the carbs these days — I promise I tried). Special shoutout to my best friend Cliff, who sat there watching me clean my plate. Don’t judge me, Cliff. It was worth every bite.
To the Nowak’s team — thank you for elevating this night from a reunion into a memory I’ll savor for years to come. I’ll soon return with my companion and my empty belly—for sure.
Tuna tartar was good, the French onion soup was very good.
Steaks were amazing as are the sides. I don’t even like broccoli and I found my self getting more. Mac and cheese was good as well.
The peanut butter pie stole the show however. The texture was amazing and it had some complexity going on with just a hint of tartness that would show up and disappear just as quickly. I’m not the biggest dessert guy, but we ate the entire thing.
I would definitely pick this place over Bones and just about anywhere else in the city. I need to do a Pepsi taste challenge with this place and Marcel, but I might not financially recover from it. 10/10 we will be back.
We started with the Lobster Labeaux, and it was unreal—rich, buttery, and perfectly balanced without being heavy. Easily one of those dishes you think about the next day. The French onion soup deserves every bit of hype it gets: deep, savory, and layered with flavor, with just the right amount of cheese and perfectly caramelized onions.
For entrées, the Chicken Paillard was spot on—light, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, making it a great contrast to the heartier steakhouse cuts. The chopped steak made with Prime NY Strip and Ribeye was the real star, though—juicy, packed with flavor, and clearly made from high-quality beef. You could taste the difference immediately.
The service was exactly what you want from a place like this: attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without being pretentious. They genuinely know the menu and guide you through it like pros.
Between the food, the atmosphere, and the service, this is one of those places that feels special without trying too hard. A true steakhouse experience done right—and absolutely worth coming back for again and again.
And cherry on top – *excellent* coffee and desserts. We will certainly be back.
Food was tasty. My husband and I both ordered filet mignon 8 oz, a couple of sauces and mushrooms and asparagus for sides. The steaks, as is, come very charred and on the salty side. My husband loves it that way. Apparently it’s a thing. Me – not really, so after last time’s disappointment, I asked for my steak not to be charred. It came out fantastic. Just a bit too salty, which I will mention next time when ordering as well. The sides were really good, but not amazing. But then, they are just sides.
Overall, it’s a great experience and dinner, and my husband’s favorite, and he knows a good steak! So we will definitely be back. Just need to make sure to mention personal preference when ordering for me.
