2 years ago I gave this place a 5 star review. The last few months this place has slid down hill and I’m officially done. Today they opened at 11. I was the first customer in at 11:07 and for my 3rd visit in a row the steam trays with the food were completely empty. Myself and five others stood there for 10 minutes while we watched them attempt to get ready for the day. You would think they would start this at 10:30 am. And you’d think the food would be fresh and hot. My burrito was cold, cold rice, cold beans and the only hint of warmth was the freshly over cooked grilled chicken. 2 key employees have left in the last few months and the food just keeps getting worse.
Shame because I really loved this place.

Great fast Mexican food. I had a good quesadia, but was jealous of my friends that got the smothered burritos. I guess I know what to order next time. The fresh made tortillas were good and the house made salsas had really good flavor. Even when the line was long, the service was fast and we didn’t wait too long to get food. A great place to stop for lunch if you’re in the Clayton area.

Decent and generous amount of food for the price. My only issue was seeing an older, female employee cough at least two times without covering her mouth over the food. If you have a bad cough, maybe you shouldn’t be handling food. If I had seen this prior to finishing my meal, I wouldn’t have even ordered in the first place.

Great spot! If you like Chipotle, you’ll LOVE this place! Hate to compare but they’re in the same realm.
The fresh made tortillas are a nice touch, they press and grill them right in front of you and you can definitely taste the difference from packaged ones.
The food is top notch and the price is just right!

Other online reviews made me very excited to try this place. Unfortunately, when my friend and I arrived at 11:30, the staff was in the middle of filling containers for a catered function. You would think that could have been done in the kitchen, but instead they disrupted the growing lunch line to prepare that food. My friend’s order was delayed several minutes due to this choice. So much for lunching together! Otherwise, I didn’t think it was as good as Qdoba where I suggest we go next time.

I prefer their quality over nearby competitors. Great staff and they have a rewards program that nets you a benefit after 12 visits if I recall, I used it for a free lunch one day. Clearly a place I visit frequently. Get there early or expect Clayton lines. –Corrected the number of visits for a reward.

I am so frustrated with the hours here. I tried it once when it opened and thought it was very good but what kind of restaurant closes at 7 for dinner?
I can never go here after work. Then I noticed recently they had printed new hours until 8pm on their door and posted a sign saying they are open for summer hours. Tried to go tonight and they had a piece of paper slapped on the door with new hours. Closed at 7:30. What is the point of even being open for dinner?
To the management, if you read these, you are serving food people want to eat in the evening! You are losing so much business with these absurd hours!

10/18 Update: Was quickly contacted by Mayana management and was offered a credit towards a meal. I returned for lunch today and was pleased to see that the small quantity was in fact a one-off occurrence. I appreciate their commitment to their business and customers. I try my best to support the local restaurants over chains and the quality of Mayana’s food is far superior to Chipotle and Qdoba. This will continue to be one of my (and my colleagues’) favorites for lunch in the Clayton area.
Had I written this last week I would have given them five stars. However, I guess they have changed their policy to provide the smallest quantities of food possible. Except for the rice, every part of my bowl, including the chicken, was no more than a half scoop and when I asked for shredded cheese they gave me a pinch. By the end, my to-go bowl was barely half full when it usually is almost overflowing. I would have said something but I needed to leave. Maybe they were hinting that I need to lose some weight? Also, there were only four people in the line and it still took 15 min. to get our food. I may go there one more time to confirm and I will be happy to change this review if this is just a one-time occurrence, but if this is now the standard, they have lost a loyal customer. I’d rather go to the Chipotle down the street. Same price and I won’t be starving after finishing the meal. Very disappointed.

The food is great, there is plenty to choose from and I believe the pricing is just right. Pretty good service, would have like to seen more salsa when it was needed without asking and needs a bigger waiting area. I would definitely this place to anyone!

We have used Mayana for multiple catering events for work, and it is the only place where the food is a hit with everyone! They have good options for the vegetarians also. Alex and Chrissy are always wonderful to work with, prompt, and the service is outstanding. We will continue to use them in the future!
