Lovely, friendly service with a smile. We hadn’t booked as we were travelling up to Scotland, but the team were helpful and accomodating and we went into the side bar area and were able to book at the bar.
The atmosphere was great, the place was buzzing both inside and out with 80s classics spilling out of the speakers.
There was a wide variety of Italian food on offer. It was gorgeous, bursting with flavour and good sized portions at sensible prices. It was served pretty quickly, with a smile and was piping hot.
Thank you everybody at Novellos for a lovely meal on our stopover to Scotland.
I also managed to pick up some tips for our trip to Scotland from a lady behind the bar.

We had a lovely early evening meal here. Great child friendly service and absolutely outstanding food, prepared and served surprisingly quickly! Superb decor, clean and fresh throughout and great music pumping out of the speakers.
We all agreed that our starters, meals, puddings and coffees were brilliant. Those of our party who had been before at lunch service said how good it had been then, and this was certainly consistent with their experience before.
Taglietelle al gamberoni, gnocchi al forno and the kids menu penne bolognese were all huge winners for us – we also had a delicious healthy few starters to share – potato skins, olives and garlic and rosemary pizza bread. Puds chosen were the brownie al cioccolato and dolci caramello – exquisite!
If we’d stayed longer and the kitchen hadn’t been closing a bit early due to a long afternoon service, we’d have definitely had more! Grazie mille, Novellos – we’ll see you again next time we’re in the area x

I have came here twice now with my family, and both times everything has been perfect. Both times I ordered the penne alfredo which has been nothing but delicious. The staff are very nice and welcoming, and the atmosphere is amazing. I would definitely recommend.

Friday 12th.. staff night out after work.. couldn’t eat the steak at all.. so salty (my dog wouldn’t eat it)I did take it home!!! It was really busy. I privately messaged to let them know… they thanked me for bringing it to their attention.. too expensive to try again
