Absolutely charmed by the excellent service, thank you so much, T!

The food was excellent, exactly what you’d expect at a diner that’s been in business so long. Really modest prices, huge portions, (makes chain diners and even fast food prices seem like a rip off), and still really well prepared and good quality.

Well worth the price of admission, even before factoring in the charm of the retro furnishings. They have jukeboxes, at the booths, in 2025… Back to the Future level nostalgia.

And our waitress was an absolute delight, veteran of the diner for four years, owners-better-know-how-lucky-they-are-to-have-her sort of waitress. Made us feel like family. Thank you Mama T!

I hope they get back to doing overnight service on the weekends. Closing at one seems kinda odd given that this was always a late night pilgrimage for UMass kids. (Have a DD, frens! And have them drive your tipsy butts here for a heavy hauler to warsh down all the Happy Dads or whatever y’all drink nowadays.)

Wth are you still reading this review for? Go to the Whately Diner already! (PS that is and always will be what it’s actually called. Place is a local legend.)

The food was great especially the home fries. The portions are awesome for the price. I especially loved meeting T. She was absolutely amazing, super friendly and down to earth. I loved just being in her company. I will be going back to talk with her again soon.

I’m from Houston and I recently visited this really nice American old style restaurant. The location is great, and the food is delicious. The young guy who served me was incredibly helpful and friendly. I had a wonderful time there.

First time we came a young brunette waited on us. Everything was perfect and warm and welcoming. So we came back. The next waitress was VERY cold and you felt like you were bothering her. Never checked on us, and avoided eye contact. The food was superb. Quantity abundant.. couldn’t finish it. Everything else was fine. Idk if we will return as we wouldn’t want the same service, don’t want to take the chance. Your cooks are just that, and very delicious.

Wonderful place. Filled with local and truckers, but the kind of place that anyone would feel welcome walking in (I was coming back from the mountains with my daughter). Good food, super friendly people. All those times you were on the road and you got fast food but wished you could find a good local diner, this is where you should have gone. An easy 5 stars.

My and my father visited for the first time this morning. Will be going back for sure. Service was incredible, food was one of the better breakfast I have ever had. I got the “Heavy Hauler” 3 eggs, toast, 2 breakfast meats, potatoes, and pancakes. 15.99! My dad got 2 eggs , sausage patties , toast, potatoes 9.99! Retro feel all around. Definitely check the diner out! This will now be my measure for breakfast!

We wanted a classic American truck stop, and this was exactly what we wanted. The portions were super generous, the water cold as hell, and the jukebox was fun to play with. Really surprised they had songs as recent as this year. fun!

Quiet, quaint and friendly. Decent chili and cold beer on tap. Couldn’t have asked for more after a long day.
