Nothing special about this place. The food doesn’t taste much better than things that can be made at home. I wouldn’t be shocked if the green beans came from a can. I wasn’t disappointed, however. If you’re looking for a place that’ll do without blowing you away, this is it. The staff were friendly and attentive.

Had ribs. They were really dry and not very good at all. One dish in our party had a huge hair in it. Was disgusting. Had to have it replaced with a salad. We weren’t charged for either but still unacceptable. Waitress was very nice and did a good job. The kitchen and the food are pretty awful though. Won’t be returning

Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. the food is always good, especially the walleye fish. And the blueberry cheesecake is the best I’ve ever had. I ordered it at the suggestion of the waitress and went back the next day for more. And may I add in my opinion, nobody’s green beans taste better than Northwoods Saloon in Crete IL

It’s always a fun experience to come here and have the corned beef once a year. It’s got a lot of flavor and is extremely lean, and is only available from the start of March till St. Patrick’s Day. Totally worth coming, for sure.

I used to come here all the time when I worked in the area. I was randomly in the neighborhood and decided to order from Northwoods because I remembered how great the salads were. When I entered in the bar area, the short male bartender wasn’t friendly. He didn’t greet me, it felt really uncomfortable. I asked him a question about my order and he rudely answered it as he was entertaining his friends at the bar. I always leave a tip on pick-up orders but decided against it. He didn’t say thank you or anything. I got to the parking lot and called back in because the wrong salad dressing was with my order. The taller bigger man who answered the phone was really nice and brought out the salad dressing. He made up for the unpleasant situation that I had.

Great time with the family, food delicious, atmosphere wonderful and welcoming, prices reasonable. They had a cool game area for kids with Pacman, hunt shooting game, and even pinball. Decent IPA selection. Surprising find in the Steger/Crete area. Will come again.

My protein was either overpriced or shorted. I’ve never had what they called “cornbread ” that looked or tasted like they served. I must say the creamy coleslaw was enjoyed. The others in my group enjoyed their meal.
