Dinner was delicious! We decided to sit at the bar and it was a good decision to do so. Brady took great care of us; he was very knowledgeable of menu items, very attentive and was a pleasure to talk to while we waited for our meals. My husband had the yellowfin tuna and I had one of the nightly specials, seared scallops with gouda cheese grits and roasted red pepper with pork belly. The scallops were seared to perfection! Don’t miss out on the place!

Went here with my wife while we were on vacation last week. It was busy on the night we went but we got lucky and we’re seated right away. We really enjoyed the tuna appetizer special and the hush puppies. My wife got the mixed grill and really enjoyed it and I got the chefs pasta which was also really tasty. It was a big serving, with 5 shrimp and 5 scallops, so I saved most of the pasta for the next day! Again, we had a really great time and would love to go back if we’re ever back in the area!

Recommend the hush puppies with jalapeño honey butter ($11) and fried flounder sandwich with jalapeño tartar, fries and slaw ($20).

Chill atmosphere.

Waitress was very nice and attentive.

Would come again in the future. Recommend to others.

Very good food! I got the yellowfin tuna (rare), which was great! My girlfriend got the salmon (well done), which the butter they used was a great touch. Only thing I wish they did differently was served the raw oysters on ice and had Tabasco come with the oyster because it took a little bit for the Tabasco to come out when I asked for it.

I really can’t recommend this restaurant. Some of the dishes are ok but the French Fries have so much salt that after a few it’s too much. Also a medium grilled burger was medium well to well done with too much salt as well. Chicken sandwich was ok. The shrimp and scallops pasta was the one decent dish but rather expensive too.

Food was delicious! I ordered every single appetizer on the menu and they were all phenomenal. Our server was great. Drinks were amazing. The wait is long, so I would suggest you get there right when they open. I will definitely go again if I’m ever back at the OBX.

This is a long overdue review. I spent an evening at North Banks in 2024 and I can easily say it was no mistake. The food here is phenomenal. Every dish that was ordered at my table was incredible. I ordered the shrimp and grits. Easily the second best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had (the first being from a hole in the wall in New Orleans). Getting a table can be very competitive, though. A long wait is to be expected (we waited over an hour for a table), but North Banks is one of those places where it’s worth the wait. The plus side of being in TimBuk II is you can browse shops while you wait. Anyways, yeah, cannot recommend this place enough. Looking to revisit in 2026.

Looking for a place to eat in Timbuktu, and ran into North Banks. Wonderful meal with the fam, wife and two daughters! Pasta and Popcorn shrimp, plus Crab Cakes and Scallops with gnocchi! Hush puppies were great!
