Would definitely visit again! Food was delicious- however, I would add more seasoning, like some cilantro, for example, to the steak burrito. Our server was very sweet and the melon margarita was well made.

We were staying in the Carlsbad Inn Beach Resort, so you couldn’t get a closer location for us.
If seated outside, it’s a really nice setting, with patio heaters if needed.
The food was OK, but nothing that exciting.
The house margarita was a real disappointment with no taste of tequila, probably the worst margarita of our holiday.

Awesome awesome awesome. We had a wonderful party here with about 40 friends with taco bar and happy hour. The food was delicious and the drinks were great! I love this place.

I had an early dinner today, while staying at the Carlsbad Inn. Jose Garcia was my server and bartender, and he made an absolutely delicious Patron Margarita for me. The chips and salsa were nothing spectacular, but the chips were warm, and with the salsa, they were satisfying. I had the beef chimichanga, which was quite delicious. The prices are very reasonable, with the patron margarita at $18 and the chimichanga at $17. I would definitely and highly recommend this restaurant.

I felt compelled to write this PSA after my most recent visit to Norte. The food tastes fine but the service needs some work, to be certain! I asked our waitress if they serve Cherry Coke and she said yes. What I got was actually a regular Coke with some kind of chemically-tasting syrup added. Then I asked her to leave the bell peppers off of my carne asada burrito so she took that to mean ‘no vegetables at all”. What I received was a tiny little burrito with literally just meat, no salsa, guacamole, rice, beans….NOTHING! The burrito was roughly the size of those frozen bean and cheese burritos from the grocery store and definitely not worth the nearly $12 I was charged for it. I would suggest trying the little fish taco stand around the corner instead. It’s a much better value proposition and the people are a little friendlier.

I’ve been coming here my whole life but the last 4 times have been really disappointing. I had four margaritas at happy hour and I’m leaving stone cold sober. I’m not sure there’s any tequila in them at all. There are better options in the area and that’s what I’ll be choosing next time.

This place has a wonderful atmosphere and the service was prompt and friendly. Unfortunately the food was so bland and just poor quality we couldn’t finish it. The burrito had nothing but plain chicken in it. It was really dry. The sauce was unrecognizable – maybe tomato soup? Not sure. The guacamole seemed like it had been frozen – didn’t seem fresh. There was an off ‘old oil’ taste to the rice. Not sure what was going on in the kitchen – maybe it was a bad day for them.

It was a cool location. The tood had good flavor. The service was very poor. Which plays a big role. The server had a lot of attitude especially when she got a few of our orders wrong. Also, we asked for fries for one of our kids and it came with old eaten food on the plate. Pretty sure they just reheated someone else’s fries and gave it to us. Although location was great we probably won’t be coming back here.

Really enjoyed my visit to Norte! The burrito I ordered was delicious—hearty, flavorful, and came with plenty of extras on the side, which was a nice touch. The staff were super cheerful and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. On top of that, the atmosphere was really pleasant—lively but not overwhelming.

It was okay, I got the fish burrito and the wife a beef chimichanga. The fish burrito was not as flavorful as it could or should have been (am a fish burrito connoisseur) and my wife’s chimichanga with beans was very, very dry. At first, they brought me a fish taco instead of a burrito and then corrected it. Next, my wife ordered her chimichanga with no sour cream. You guessed it, they put lots of sour cream on it. They needed to remake it, like my meal. The chips and salsa were good and the best thing about it were the drinks. If you go here, go for the drinks. My wife’s margarita was fantastic. Anyway, I was surprised that we were not at the very comped a drink or some sort of discount on our bill for the kitchen messing up both my wife’s meal & mine. I’ve been here before Covid and remember it being better. Not sure that I’ll be going back. So, 3 stars for the great drinks and poor service (I would give 2.5 stars if I could).
