Stopped for lunch on a Saturday.
First snowfall of the season was the night before and starting with a hot chocolate seemed like the thing to do. Served at just the right temperature to drink without burning and not overly sweet. Nice start!
Next up was the lunch combo. Thick slices of turkey on their cranberry rice bread, lightly griddled but not greasy. Add some havarti and a compound mustard on the side and this is a very good sandwich. The chili that accompanied was mild and decent, just not my style.
Last item of the visit was their apple-lingonberry pie. When you charge $5 for a slice of pie, it better deliver! Their version was a bit on the tart side and very well executed. Easily the best bite and I really enjoyed my sandwich.

Love there lefse wrap with egg, sausage and hash browns. But their raspberry cream cheese pie is awesome

I had only been to the osseo location, this one was so much bigger, and very quiet when we got there after 10a.m.
Breakfast was great, pie to go was also perfect. I love all of the variations of berry pie!

What an amazing stop. The food was cooked just right. Eggs were amazing. The country fried steak . And our waitress Lyndy was Awesome. Very friendly and a good time. She was sweet like a peach . Please stop in to support this mom and Pop shop. Homemade pies are to die for. Holy Jesus.

Lovely family, ethnic restaurant whose menu features both wonderful Norwegian fare as well as your typical American fare… all very delucious with a homemade touch to it. The pies, though, are what bring this wonderful place into national noteriety. Numerous times have they won national pie competitions for best pies in the US, recently, 4th overall in the nation. The hollandaise smothered lefse wrap was a delight, and their pancakes were ginormous and very tasty. Our grandkids loved the place as well.

I went here for the very first time today 12/13. They need to send all the turtle cookies to me in Illinois. The lingenberry cream pie was so delicious that it too needs to be shipped to Illinois. The front of the store was so inviting with unique Norwegian items . I bought 3 jars of lingenberry jam and several other cookies. If you ever get to go you will not be disappointed. The front of store worker Linus was very accommodating with my multiple purchases.

Host was fairly rude, however we were meeting family, so we put up with it, otherwise we would have left. Our waitress was phenomenal, funny & friendly. The food was ok, kind of expensive for what you get. The pies were delicious though! As we were leaving, we decided to take a group picture outside. As one family member was taking the picture (& not in it) one of the employees who was on break, ran over and offered to take our picture for us — even though she was on break! The service here was outstanding! (Aside from the host). Would have given more stars, but the quantity versus price & rude host lowered my rating.

Was in the area and decided to walk over. How could I be a good Norwegian and not go here for some lunch. I ordered the lefse wrapped Norwegian meatballs with mashed potatoes and gravy. It was pretty good. Grandma’s was better but grandma’s always is. I also got cheese curds. They were mediocre. Probably frozen. I should have skipped them for $10 and ordered pie. In Wisconsin the cheese curds should always be fresh in my opinion. The pies and desserts looked AMAZING but I didn’t have room for any. I suggest that you order desert first here and if you have room then order dinner. I’m always too full for desert. Cool little Norwegian food spot. Nice to trigger some old memories.

Absolutely wonderful food! They are affordable, really good, and have nice portion sizes. Would heavily recommend their sour cream based pies (raspberry sour cream shown in picture). The idea of sour cream in pies freaked me out a bit at first, but I am so glad I tried one as they will now be my go to. Their omelettes are also wonderful (pictured is their veggie omelette). Definitely my favorite restaurant in the area. I’ve gone twice now and look forward to bringing all my friends and family to this new found treasure

I saved the last star just because I can’t do lutefisk. My grandmother and grandfather are Norwegian and it grossed me out as a kid, and still does, but if that’s your thing more power to you. Most Norwegian dishes are very hearty and wholesome from the farm. This place has authentic close to home dishes I’ve heard from since family. The atmosphere bus great and the service is wonderful. I think an old friend works there. I’ll have to see. I will try something new Everytime I come. Thanks servers and contributers!
