Friends and neighbors for over 20 years, our story started when Brad brought over a couple of six-packs of Chris’ favorite Bourbon Barrel Aged Tavern Ale one Saturday afternoon on a beautiful sunny summer day. They quickly made sure the beer didn’t get warm and soon had to find another beverage to stay hydrated, bourbon seemed like a logical choice so Chris went to get some ice and a bottle of Basil Hayden. Ribeye’s and potatoes went on the grill and by the time Jenni and Lynn joined at 10 o’clock the steaks were gone and a second bottle of Basil Hayden had been opened. By 2 am all the bourbon and a few bottles of wine gone, we had solved all the world’s problems and Brad had suggested we started a brewery together. As they say, n…

Really fun brewery! The food was delicious and different variety from other places, and the beer was tasty. Not as wide of a selection as other brewery’s but plenty of options.

Overall Score: 7.4/10 – A solid tavern-style brewery with unique Viking-themed charm, great food, and excellent service. Clean space, fun atmosphere, and quality dishes made for a memorable experience.
Atmosphere and Service: 7.5/10 – The interior has a cool Viking vibe without being overdone. The brewery setup adds character, and the space is clean with a good number of seats. The bathroom was a fun surprise. Service was excellent—friendly and attentive throughout.
Bacon Pimento Cheeseburger: 7.7/10 – A standout burger. It looked great and delivered on flavor. The double patty gave it a satisfying weight, the bun was just right, and the thick-cut bacon added bold taste. Slightly pricey, but worth every dollar.
Mac n Cheese: 7.1/10 – Creamy, cheesy, and cooked perfectly. The macaroni had a fresh, quality texture and strong flavor. A great side dish to round out the meal.

Like many of the best things, we happened upon this place by happenstance, after a show at Wake Forest Listening Room (also very worth a visit). We came in near closing time, which concerned us as many kitchens stop taking orders well before posted closing time, and we hadn’t had much opportunity to eat that day. However, Lynn, our super cordial server, said it was no problem. The Belgian wheat beer, Worth the Wait, really was! and perfectly complemented the Viking burger (look at the menu, it’s really special). My meatloaf platter was equally delicious. You can see the commitment to excellence shown by the cooks, brewer and staff here. Never been to Wake Forest before, but would be happy to find myself here again.

Called ahead for a to-go order. Took about 20 minutes to get 2 sides of fries and a “coke”, which ended up being a 16 oz fountain drink. In.my mind, and other establishments that soda is either a bigger fountain soda or a can of soda. The soda was flat, the line definitely needed to be cleaned, and it was mostly ice. $2.50. that’s absurd.
The side of fries are thick cuts and seasoned deliciously. I happen to like salt, so I didn’t mind that they were very salty.

Norse Brewing is our most regular out of restaurants we consider ‘regular.’ Their beer is tasty and crisp and you’ll get more than you thought with their dinner menu. It’s like upscale bar food with a Nordic flair and I’ve had nearly everything at one point or other. One of my go-to’s is the frickadellar from the starter menu, meatballs of a combo of meats with greens and a well paired berry sauce. There’s also open faced sandwiches, great for lunch. There’s comfort food without sacrificing flavor, like tonight’s feast, meatloaf that comes with a rich savory and vinegar-based bbq sauce over thick mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts soft enough to easily chew but firm enough to hold their shape. The biggest thing is the consistency. Every meal is a banger. Come on live music nights or show up later on a weeknight for a quieter visit. Every staff member has been friendly and seems to enjoy where they work; they’re clearly proud of what they’re delivering to the table. I sure as hell would be.

Good burger and fries. Seasonal squash soup was good. I liked the pretzel bun on the grilled cheese but it wasn’t your traditional grilled cheese. Kinda weird. The seasonal salad was good; fresh. Beer and cider was good. The dry rubbed wings weren’t actually rubbed hahaha! They were naked but crispy and good. Liquor prices were ridiculous. Stick to draft beer. I’ll try it again. The outdoor space is fun. I want to like this place, and the locals clearly do. It’s worth a visit.

Norse Brewing is a wonderful, local brewery and restaurant that is enjoyed by my family. The food is made from scratch and their menu is varied where it will meet everyone’s needs in your party. The food is always served hot and freshly made. Their brewed beers are delicious and they have a great variety. The also started a happy hour on appetizers and weekly specials. The staff is friendly and responsive. If you haven’t been in a while stop in again and if you are a first timer you won’t be disappointed.

Went on a Friday night and they have live music. It was a solo gentleman playing, so it was a very chill atmosphere, which is exactly what we wanted. I have been here a few times and the food is always delicious. Food is a bit more pricy here than a normal bar, but it’s still very good. I got the duck fat fries instead of the regular fries as my side, they were really good but not as crispy as the regular fries.
Viking Burger – 8.5/10
Duck fries – 8/10
Pretzel – 8.6/10 (The cheese sauce is where it’s at)
Cheesecake – 7.8/10

My husband and I had heard from friends that Norse Brewing Company was a good place to eat. Well, we beg to differ — it was great! From beginning to end, five stars were earned. Every morsel was better than the one before. With the variety of dishes on the menu, people might guess that certain dishes were not as tasty as others. I am glad to tell you that everything was top-notch.
