The fact that this may be the only Norms in the San Fernando Valley may be the reason that this Norms stays so busy. Unless you sit at the counter, there may be a wait to get a table. However, that does not affect the quality of the food or service. The kitchen staff is effortlessly pumping out plate after delicious plate. And the wait staff quickly gets your order to you piping hot. My server Aynne was especially attentive and made sure that I was satisfied. And though I have patronized Norms Restaurants all over Los Angeles County, the food tasted just a little better at this one. I will be back.

Juan was our server and he was very attentive and efficient. The food was delicious and the price were reasonable especially because our meal included a half sandwich, soup, salad and fountain drink. Sign up for the reward program to earn free food. My bill for 3 people was around $55 and I redeemed my points and my bill came down to $38. I love these discounts! Great food, great service and great prices here at the Norms in Van Nuys!

This place is memorable to me. I first tried this place through my mom. I remember around 2007 till 2009 all the way till 2010, my mom would be off from work at Quest Diagnostic around 5:00 a.m. and they would come home and bring me breakfast with 3 eggs, hashbrown, 3 strips of bacon, 3 sausages, and 3 butter milk hot cakes. It was my favorite and I never knew it was called ” LUMBER JACK BREAKFAST” But today, I decided to try their “1 LB PORTER HOUSE STEAK AND EGGS”.
The steak was somehow hard but over all it was great. Their hashbrown and pancakes were super. And oh before I forgot, they have good “CHOCOLATE MILKSHAKES”
For only almost $40 it was worth the experience.

Had an amazing experience at NORMS! The food was exactly what you want from a classic spot like this — fresh, hot, comforting, and absolutely hit the spot. Everything came out quickly, portions were generous, and the quality was way better than expected.
But the real standout of the night was ALICIA, our server. She was genuinely incredible — friendly, attentive, upbeat, and made us feel welcomed from the moment we sat down. She checked on us at just the right times, had a great attitude, and honestly elevated the entire experience. You can tell she really cares about her job and her customers.
Because of Alicia, this wasn’t just a good meal — it was a great experience. Huge shoutout to her and the whole NORMS team. We’ll absolutely be back and will be asking for Alicia again! ️

Came durung midweek…the place had a weird smell soon as I walked in. Sat down, ordered the BBQ trio. Service was cool. Food came out, no burnt ends. I asked. Waiter goes, “Oh we’re out.” Like I wasn’t gonna notice? That’s the main thing I came for. Just tell me upfront. Weak.

I got the lumberjack with French toast and it came out to $20. The French toast was stale and did not taste too well. Food was not that warm. Food wasn’t all that good, should have just went to Dennys which is half the price and imo taste better.

I was there for dinner. I ordered the hawaiian bread burger sliders. They were pretty good, had good flavor and meat was juicy not dry. My husband ordered the steak, shrimp and veggies. He wasn’t too happy with the steak, said it was undercooked. I had coffee with my meal. The waitress was pretty good at noticing when I needed a refill.
