I was a bit disappointed in the food because I believe some of it needed more salt, like the pinto beans. My Rise & Shine burger was fine, but it wasn’t special. The best things were the rolls and cornbread muffins. You can taste that the rolls were homemade, and I liked the diner atmosphere as well. The waitstaff was also courtesy and friendly.

Fried Pickles were salty but the ranch was divine. Rhubarb and strawberry pie was tart. Brown gravy get it! Side dishes were excellent recommend mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and green beans. Chicken fried chicken was juicy and perfectly cooked.

Service and tea was excellent! It’s one of the rare pie shops that still use a meringue on the top.

This particular diner has all of the classic American diner vibes. It’s a bustling environment with Christmas music in the air, all races of Americans, and amazing customer service where you may be called “darling” at the end of a sentence. The people that work here appear to love their jobs, there are many customers that seem to be repeat customers as many servers know them by name. I had a chicken fried steak with 3 sides. A large meal and the price was fantastic. What a Vibe, what meal and what great people. All 5 starts.

Asked our friend for a good breakfast spot and he suggested Norma’s. Cute, cute spot/diner. Has counter seating as well as booths. The breakfast was really good. Pie looked amazing.

I walked in and wasnt greeted. 2 ladies at the register just looked up and then talked to eachother and didnt acknowledge me. I waited over 5 min and then I asked for help in which I still wasnt greeted with a hello, all the guy said was give me a minute. Great food.

Driving through Dallas and stumbled upon Norma’s cafe. Very clean restaurant. Our waiter was very attentive he had a lot of tables going, but he got them all. Our order was correct and the food was excellent. The biscuits and gravy with grits are the bomb. The chicken fried steak was very delicious onions rings right on point. Lemon pie with the meringue is excellent. Stop by and grab some good food.

Are you hungry? Then stop scrolling. There’s a reason Norma’s Cafe has been open since 1956. We just moved to Dallas and this was our first time coming here. The food was amazingly delicious and the service was exceptional. If you’re from the NE, this location gives off a diner vibe in all the good ways. We will be coming back.

Also, thank you Regina for your hospitality and great service!

It’s a nostalgia thing. Food is not amazing, it’s just simple, standard, but something about eating at a dinner draws us back to this place every time. Decent prices, great staff, speedy service. We do love going to Norma’s and many others do too because on weekends it’s always packed with long waits.
