I ordered the kids meal NY strip hibachi and I am not impressed. I was NOT expecting the steak in a kids meal to be basically RARE, that makes me sick. The steak was also extremely chewy and the meal lacked flavor. Even for $16, I’m very disappointed.
This was my first time trying Nori, and I will not be returning.

If I could give zero stars for food and service, I would. My family and I have dined here many times in the past and have generally had good experiences. Unfortunately, today’s visit was extremely disappointing.

I stopped in during my lunch break and ordered the hibachi steak meal with added noodles. While eating, I discovered a piece of metal stuck to my rice. I immediately returned inside to show the staff member. She apologized and told then quickly took the food to the back and asked if I wanted it remade, which I declined. I then requested a refund and was told she needed to contact a manager.

A male staff member informed me they were short-staffed and that no manager was on-site. When the staff member contacted the manager by phone, I overheard her say “the metal may have come from a grill tool”. She then proceeded to give me a refund but both acted as if it was no big deal. I did not hear the manager but judging by what she was saying it didn’t seem like there was any concern there either. This entire situation was alarming and unacceptable.

I am extremely concerned about the possibility that I may have unknowingly consumed metal. I documented the incident by taking photos, keeping my receipt, and recording part of the interaction. This experience was deeply upsetting, and as a result, I will not be returning.

We tried to plan ahead by sending an email for a reservation—complete radio silence, no response whatsoever. When we called instead, the host casually assured us we “wouldn’t need one,” so we showed up expecting a smooth evening. Big mistake.
Once seated (at a regular table, not hibachi—because apparently that matters for service level here), we waited quite a while just to be acknowledged. When drinks finally arrived, our beers were warm—seriously.
Things went downhill from there. We ordered soup, only to be told they were completely out of spoons – they told us we could either sip it if we wanted or wait for the next dishwasher load of spoons. We also never received utensils of any kind despite asking. We found chopsticks ourselves at a side station and asked for silverware only to be told they didn’t have any yet. We got 2 forks (for 6 people) towards the end of the meal.

The food itself took forever to come out, and when we asked for four more beers to go with the meal, the server showed up 20 minutes later with only one beer – that’s all they had. It was also room temp.

Our waiter showed up maybe 3 times total – zero attentiveness, zero care. The food was mediocre at best. The “fried rice” was just greasy brown rice with nothing else in it. We asked for sauce (who doesn’t love the yum yum and ginger sauce?!) and were told they were out of sauce cups so they could bring a bowl at some point. Maybe 2 minutes after the final bill came, we were asked if we wanted drink/water refills for the very first time.

The bill came to over $300 – we split with our dinner companions. The most egregious part was that they slapped on an automatic 20% tip. $40 auto-gratuity for what? A absent server, warm beers, no utensils, a comedy of errors all night? I have no idea what service deserved that kind of tip—certainly not this trainwreck. To add insult to injury, they suggested ANOTHER 20, 22 or 24 percent on the already taxed and auto tipped amount, unethical! See attached.

We left feeling ripped off, frustrated, and hungry for a real dining experience elsewhere. Save your money and go anywhere but here. Zero stars if I could give it. Terrible management, abysmal service, and overpriced mediocrity. Never again.

P.s. we sent an email trying to address all this and were completely ignored.

Actually so amazing came here for my brothers birthday and they not only congratulated him but got him a small free cake! Got me and my friend to buy one. Great advertising, great environment, friendly staff. Our waitress was super helpful, always refilling our drinks and taking out dishes. My favorite place to eat.

The atmosphere was underwhelming and lacked flare and energy. We were seated in the back dining area. When we first arrived at our table, it was as dirty and had rice all over it. The room was loud and hot; at one point it reached 83 degrees (we could see that on the thermostat on the wall). The chairs were too short for the height of the table and some people in our party were not comfortable and could not reach to eat properly. I ordered a shrimp tempura appetizer and did not receive it until I was almost done with my meal. They advised that the kitchen was behind. I understand that does happen, but they should have advised us of the delay. We were never asked if we wanted additional drinks and were not offered water refills until the end of our dinner/when the check was brought to us. The bussers did not take our dirty dishes away after the salad and soup course. Our chef came out with a mask on which made our table a bit concerned that he may have been sick while handling our food. He lacked enthusiasm and seemed like he did not want to be there. The server’s workstation located near the back seating area was very dirty and not appealing to the eye. They automatically added a 20% gratuity, which was not fair and did not reflect the service we were provided. I was really looking forward to dining here as it is close to my house; however, I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Nori is a nice Japanese hibachi restaurant, the food is just good but the service es really good , the cook ‍ was really friendly and funny. He really makes me enjoy the experience. The prices are not expensive but they are not cheap so it is worth it.

Ordered take out here, it was our first time. Meat portions exceeded expectations for take out, in fact the whole order did. I ordered 1 Steak Hibachi and 1 Chicken. I did have to cut my steak into bite size pieces but other than that no issues.

Updated review: sushi quality and presentation has improved. Menus have been fixed: though still a number of errors, at least we were both able to read one when we sat down. Service also improved and the staff working that night were doing their best (though I still believe they could benefit with at least 1 more headcount). The steam bun (bao) wasn’t fresh/soft and the soft shell crab was past its prime (wife stopped eating it but neither of us got sick). Overall, a much better experience than our last visit though still quite some room to continue to improve.

This review is mainly to the volcano roll we ordered yesterday. Supposedly that is what’s on the left side of the image. It is definitely not a volcano roll and not entirely sure what it is. The sushi rolls we got were not good. Everyone is friendly and it’s a really nice place. Just not sure what was going on with the sushi. Friends have told me they have had great experiences so I’ll definitely give it another shot.

This place was really good. I like seafood but it has to be good stuff or it really. Let’s say it does not like my body. But I had the shrimp and calamari hibachi and man was it phenomenal
I don’t know what else to say about it. But it was definitely very good and just a nice pleasant dinner and evening altogether.
