Here, you’re sure to find tasty, fresh, high-quality dishes! It’s the ideal place to stop rather than a fast-food restaurant. The service is fast, the food is delicious, and the prices are reasonable. What more could you ask for? It’s a rare find, especially on this road, and it’s perfect! The welcome is warm and friendly. I highly recommend it. For me, it’s definitely a place to mark on Google Maps, where I’ll stop every time I pass by!

What an amazing surprise! Stopped in on a whim based on reviews. They DID NOT disappoint. The food was well prepared with great flavors. Portions were large and exceedingly satisfying. We were waited on by the chef as it was mid afternoon. We started with a bowl of spicy brisket soup, crab dip and sweet chili chicken wings. All of these were great. Next I had the seafood pasta, my wife had orange ginger halibut with risotto and vegetable medley as a special. Each bite was full of flavors layered expertly by the chef. Others in our party had the seafood crepes. Full flavored, hot and fulfilling.
Not that there was room, but we split the Maple pecan pie, and the other couple split the local, wild blueberry cheesecake. Let’s just say, we didn’t take a doggie bag! Plates were licked (or would have been if it wouldn’t have been uncouth).
If you are headed up or down highway 9, don’t overlook this unassuming gem of fine dining!

This restaurant is casual yet elegant. The tables are well laid out and the soft music in the background is nice.
We came here today for my birthday. I ordered the seafood crepes but was told they did not have enough scallops, but I could have one crepe with scallops and shrimps, and the other crepe with shrimps and haddock. I had no problem with that and both crepes were delicious. The crepes came with house salad which was fresh. My husband ordered the baked stuffed haddock which he absolutely enjoyed.
I am pleased to have chosen this restaurant for my birthday dinner.

Went here for the first time for my birthday dinner. The food was fantastic! Had baked stuffed haddock. Came with sautéed veggies and rice. The haddock was made with scallops and a crabmeat stuffing, topped with white sauce. Topped it off with a strawberry shortcake for dessert. Will definitely keep this place on my go to list!

The Nook & Cranny on Route 9 in Baileyville is the first stop in my new quest to find great places to eat and/or hang out, and what a cool place it is! The 5-cheese burger was most excellent, too.

This spot is quite deceiving from the road; it’s like a 3-in-1 deal. There’s a very respectful, family-type restaurant area. Then, you can go through a door and enter a hip bar with a distinctly rural Maine vibe (I know, it sounds weird, but it absolutely works!). Lastly, there’s a game-type room that also doubles as a music venue.

This hidden gem has a rich history, once even housed in a former chicken coop, and is now known for its diverse menu and welcoming atmosphere. The chef emphasizes fresh, local ingredients from Maine’s farmers and fishermen. They offer a variety of dishes, including Greek, Italian, French, Chinese, and traditional American favorites. Their seafood chowder, in particular, has garnered acclaim for its rich flavors and generous portions of fresh seafood. In 2019, they even added the area’s only bar, constructed by local craftspeople using local wood, further enhancing the spot’s charm.

So far, I’m very impressed, and this review is just getting started. I’ll update again, maybe the next time the place is hopping with a great musical act.

Disappointed a little and I think i got food poisoning from this place. Do not get the salmon it taste disgusting and frozen. If you’re not going to have it fresh and local why bother puting it on the menu Chef?? Keep the menu simple. My wife got the braised lamb and it was good. Blue berry cheese cake was good too.

Not much for food choices in the area . This was open and gave the vibe of fine dining . I was wrong . We walked in and stood there while a girl with a tablet just stood there on her tablet . I asked for a table for two . She said sit over there . They were all small tables so I took a larger table with elbow space. It was empty . That was probably where things went wrong .There were a total of two tables occupied 1 waitress Kim and a girl following her around with a tablet . Doing nothing . Head in tablet . I was looking to try different food . Never been here before as I’m on vacation . I order seafood crepes my guest orders blackened haddock . We ordered our beverages and they eventually came . Well we ordered after about 30 mins of just sitting there waiting while the table of six got priority treatment and we were ignored . Maybe we were not dressed fine enough as we been traveling in the car all day . So after another 30 mins after placing our order 2 and 1/4 pieces of zucchini bread appeared . And maybe another 30 mins pass and the entrees come out . There is very little food . We were hungry . Even my guest said I’m still hungry after eating . This was far from fine dining . The place is small and run down . One cook and waitress I’d guess . Maybe a married couple ? Maybe this is high class for the area ?! Any way the seafood crepes were all mini shrimp with one scallop each . They were stuck together so I’d assume it was frozen when stuffed in the crepe which was really not as it was baked in a a seafood watery soup so the crepe just fell apart ! Both meals were horrible shame on this cook for serving this ! Disappointing to say the least but more disappointing than that was horrendous attitude of the waitress Kim ! All three employees were rude ! Snobby ! What gives them the right . Respect your customers for patronizing your business ! Without them you would be nothing . I do not recommend and we will not return !
