Reached out to the store and promised free meals with refunds and compensation, but we received a refund day of because we simply can not have gluten, and never received free meals. The big problem is though, they don’t understand what gluten is, and thats dangerous. Please avoid eating here if you have allergies!
I don’t expect everyone to be friendly just because I am. I do expect them to be decent. The person working the register, “Shy” written on name tag, I found to be genuinely nasty and extremely uncomfortable to deal with. I’ve never conducted a business transaction with someone so expressly loathed to speak to me. About the only clear/audible dialog I got were instructions for which buttons I needed to press on the card reader so that I can avoid tipping. Which in the moment I somehow mistook for actual helpfulness, rather than a personal insult, and foolishly tipped anyway.
We ordered the spicy Korean steak and the stroganoff to-go. It was ~ 4:30 on a Wednesday, not busy. It took 15 minutes, I waited at the end of the counter and observed several more transactions/order-pickups. My experience was not unique. And it was very much the same from the young guy with the sleeve tattoos putting out the orders; friendly guests acting like normal human beings met with stern stares and inexplicable silence.
Guest walks up, happy it’s dinner time
“What’s up man how’s it goin’?”-
-guy turns, unpleasant face, full eye contact, no response
“I’m here to pick up a -“
-“Name?” guy interrupts sharply
Guest says their name, guy puts the bag on the counter
“Sweet, thank you.”-
-guy already turned his back
Guest turns back towards cashier
“Alright you guys have a good night”-
-cashier watching, no response
Guest leaves quietly dejected
As for the food, we thought they forgot the sauce on the stroganoff, noodles were totally dry, but there actually was a small amount in the bottom of the dish, instead of on the food, “good” flavor though. I had the Korean steak, it was heavily sauced, not spicy, it tasted pretty good with some added chilies, the noodles were too soft but didn’t really strike me as old, the steak however was chewy mush. I thought overall it was pretty acceptable (the food not the service) for the price, until I had five solid days of diarrhea that I’m still dehydrated from.
