The reservation was for the Tabu main room but we never received a notification that an event was booked in that room. Luckily we were seated quickly in the Nonna main room. Food And service were amazing, especially the octopus which was so tender. We loved the Farmer’s market salad and the butternut squash ravioli. The fried chicken was tasty but compared to the other dishes wasn’t as notable. The deaserts were the pumpkin cake (like a pumpkin pie but better) and the citrus cake (grapefruit olive oil cake). Both desserts were so good. The only complaint I have is that the tables were a little too close but it can’t be helped in the space.

Just did not live up to the hype. Service and atmosphere were fine. Our waiter was kind but definitely overwhelmed with how many tables he had. The food overall was disappointing. We tried the shrimp soufflé app, the crushed tomato pizza, the Ragu pasta, and the lobster ravioli. The pizza was very basic, dry, and bland. The ravioli had zero flavor and was just so bland. Given that it was a dish that apparently has been on the menu for years we were expecting something really great. It was so bad we sent it back. Off night maybe?? The Ragu was delicious as was the shrimp soufflé app. Overall we were expecting really amazing Italian food but were left with an experience that fell way short of reputation.

We loved our dinner at Nonna. The food tasted fresh and full of real Italian comfort, and every course felt carefully made. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing, perfect for a quiet evening. Service was kind and attentive without being pushy. A really delicious experience from start to finish.

Dined here on a Wednesday evening with a 6:30 reservation in the Nonna main room. The place was a little quiet when we got in but as it filled up and the music came on, it was a really nice atmosphere. Our waiter was very helpful with menu selections. Between two people, we had a delicious bottle of wine, an appetizer, a salad, and three orders of pasta. The regular orders (which are medium size) were the perfect portions to split and we were very full by the end. Finished the evening with a cocktail at Tabu, gorgeous bar and the live music was great! Will definitely come back.

I love coming to Nonna | Tabu—it hits that sweet spot between fancy and comfy. The moment you step in, the brick walls, warm lighting, and wood-oven give it a cozy but special feel. The staff always seem to care, and there’s something satisfying about knowing the dishes are seasonal and thoughtfully made. Add in live jazz and cocktails at Tabu, and it feels like a place to slow down and enjoy the night—not just eat.

The food at Nona was excellent, and the ambiance on the Taboo side of the restaurant was lovely. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired.
When we arrived, the restaurant was fairly empty, so I’m not sure why it took so long for our server to even introduce herself. In fact, she never actually told us her name. I only know it might be Hadeel because I overheard others call her that. About 20 minutes passed before we got our drinks, which were actually brought by the busboy. He was friendly and tried to help when I flagged him down to order appetizers, but it wasn’t until he explained he wasn’t our server that I realized I’d been waiting on the wrong person.
Once Hadeel did appear, she took our order in an unusual way. She’d wait until we finished each dish before taking the order for the next course. At one point, she dropped off the dessert menu before we’d even ordered our entrees, then seemed annoyed when we tried to order mains. Later, while waiting for dessert, olives randomly arrived at our table, which was confusing since we were expecting something sweet.
To top it off, she mentioned the next reservation was waiting, as if we were the ones holding things up, when her pacing caused the delay in the first place.
Great food, nice vibe, but the service experience was frustrating and disorganized.

This restaurant has a small shopfront but the size inside is still very large. The table is a little bit too small but the overall environment is quiet that’s not bad. The food is ok. The most delicious dish is the appetizer in Picture2 and the olives in last picture are super delicious. Appreciate the waiter packed the olives for me. Will continue to come back because there are delicious olives loll.
It is worth mentioning that their desserts are very good. Be sure to try them..

Nonna is a gem situated off Lemmon Ave across Whole Foods. This is by far one of my BEST Italian lunch experiences in Dallas. Let me begin by saying it was a gourmet delight. Tried Finnochio Salad, Spaghettini Cacio e Pepe (vegetarian) and Maine Lobster Ravioli from the menu. Every bite was fresh and delectable, and that definitely speaks volumes about the Chef’s creative skills accompanied by premium ingredients. Loved that they mentioned and acknowledged the sources on the menu. Big shoutout to the Brett for being an INCREDIBLE host, who elevated the experience to next level with his hospitality. I personally loved the ambience and interiors. Can’t wait to come back.

We had a fantastic experience dining in the TABU section of Nonna, complete with live music that added the perfect vibe. The crab cake was absolutely delicious—crispy outside, tender inside—and the lobster ravioli blew me away with its rich flavor and perfectly cooked pasta. Service was top-notch from start to finish. We’ll definitely be coming back!
