Positive
Happy, friendly, helpful service and chatted about food and the area.
A lot of dishes were unavailable, so it made picking what to eat easy!
Parked right in front, walked 20 steps, couldn’t be easier!
Negative
Well, a lot of dishes unavailable translated to very limited choice.
I read someone else’s review saying “best Thai in Forster/Tuncurry.” This may be the case (not a high bar) as the beef Massaman was lovely and tender. It didn’t, however, have some of the depth of flavour I was hoping for.
I am sure it is difficult to balance authenticity with maintaining wide appeal to generally conservative eating demographic.
Atmosphere is hard to rate for a food truck. It doesn’t have a lot of atmosphere, but its more important that they are visual to passing traffic.
–Update–
Had got the green curry to have later for dinner. Having emptied it onto rice, I discovered not a single flash fried vegetable in sight… just chicken…? It had a good flavour but monotonous just chewing chicken!?

Once this was the Deck, a thriving cafe with spectacular water lake views out to the ocean, which served good coffee and reasonable food. It was nearly always packed with locals enjoying a breakfast or lunch, it was a vibrant place. However, for whatever reason the place was let run down and eventually sold to the current owner turning the place into I’m not sure they know whether it’s a cafe or a Thai restaurant? We visited the other day around 12.15pm when once upon a time it would have been buzzing with people. There was just me and my wife and staff sitting around looking as if their days were numbered. I ordered coffee and scones, the scones were stale and the coffee just a tad above coloured water. We certainly will not be returning as money is hard to come by and to spend it on such mediocrity leaves a bad taste in one’s mouth if you’ll excuse the pun.

Great find in Tuncurry. Fresh authentic Thai food. I had Panang chicken, and chicken wings. Very tasty, full of flavour.

Had lunch on the deck for two. Waiter took order was very helpful, and polite. Ordered entree 4 spring rolls to share. Partners Pad Thai came out first..5 minutes later then the entree, then the rice. After waiting for almost 15 minutes for my main and the rice getting colder, l asked if it was still coming?. Finally arrived. Disappointed in the spring rolls,as was mostly glass noodles inside them. My massamum curry, whilst the meat was beautiful and tender the sauce contained toooo much oil. Partners meal was pretty ok. I’ve have Massamum curry
In a lot of restaurants. Scored 6/10.

Really tasty Thai Basil Chicken, perfect level of spice and generous amount of meat. She threw in a coconut rice for me too, after realizing I couldn’t afford the fried rice as well. Thank you Nong!

Pretty average, had spring rolls, supposed to be pork & chicken, mainly cabbage though. Pad Thai chicken- very little chicken in this dish , so quite expensive at $15 for a small container. I was a chef & I reckon I could do better than this. Would not recommend.
The one saving grace was their chicken wings, they were delicious, hence 3 stars , not 1.

The Quality of the food here is wicked!! The prices are low for the amount of food you get and I wish I lived closer so I could eat here all day every day.
