Nonbe Daigaku never disappoints! It is my absolute favourite Japanese restaurant in Brussels. The quality of the ingredients, the care with which they are prepared, the tasty combinations. I usually take the formule lunch and try to sit on the comptoir as it’s the best place to sit. From the most delicate miso soup to start with, beautiful, fresh sashimi, the most juicy and crunchy grilled fish, light and fluffy tempura, well balanced sushi, and to top it all a great dessert in collaboration with the nicest Japanese pastry shop of Brussels. Always a great experience!

Excellent Japanese restaurant. This is definitely my favourite sushi in Brussels and one of the best that I have ever tried in Europe. Every dish will be great, so just try whatever you would like. Atmosphere is also cozy and traditional. Overall, highly recommended!

By far the best Japanese food I had in my life. The tuna was incredible!
Pricy but worth it for the freshness of the fish.
Will be back ❤️

We have been very pleased by the experience from the start to finish. The service has been very attentive and fast. The quality of the products has been mind blowing, it has been one of the best fish I have ever tried. We took the menu with a few different types of dishes and were not disappointed by the quantity and variety. The only disadvantage for me was that the takeaway orders are picked up the same counter where the chef works. So while we adored watching him create the nigiri and sashimi, just behind us there was a line of people waiting for their online order. Another option is being seated at the table, but it is not as special, as the counter seat. But overall, I would gladly return!

Jap chef and staff. Sashimi was fresh but wasabi wasn’t of the freshly grated variety. Was trying to pay separately for our party of four, but was brushed aside by jap lady- who was juggling a few tasks including answering phone and cashiering. End up paying more than what was the correct charge but couldn’t get lady’s attention in time. Do check your bill.

One of my favorite authentic Japanese restaurants in Brussels—easily reachable by tram No. 8. The staff were kind and friendly, and the food was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and truly authentic.

Authentic, excellent quality Japanese food with a good choice of Sake, and an excellent service to top it off. Highly recommended. A very simple setting. The focus is on the food.

Top notch Japanese dining in Brussels. Great cozy atmosphere with few places in the restaurant. Prices are high but the quality of the food is worth it. I recommend sitting at the bar to watch the cook make the food for you.

We booked 3 weeks in advance. The experience started nicely, with fantastic service and the best sashimi we have ever tried. Wasabi was impressive! The famous miso eggplant is totally out of this world! Miso soup is very nice. The menu is very varied and unfortunately my spouse ordered something which was totally bitter, tasteless and really not good! First time since I ve known them that the meal was not finished. This ruined the whole evening as they were very unhappy about it. My food was very good and I felt like the place was really really worth coming back! Just check you fully understand what you are ordering before they actually bring you the food. However, the restaurant should fully understand that certain Japanese dishes which are very popular in the Western world, cannot be bitter or tasteless when you come and have really high expectations about them!
