The Mexican corn is served in a glass, Guac is fresh and chips are super crunchy.
Both the burrito bowl and the traditional burrito were really good. The mushroom substitute is a good vegan option. Finishing the evening with tres leches and cappuccino
It was a good casual dining night. Highly recommend , make reservations seating could be limited.
Ordered esquites, steak, chicken, churros bites.
Esquites – these were roasted corn esquites and really delicious. IMO $11 is steep for the amount we got. I’m comparing this to dozens of other places, mainly in the city.
Steak – ordered medium and the chimichurri was pretty good, though steak was a little chewy. The masa fries are a bit strange and personally I prefer regular fries. These also had a slightly chewy texture.
Mole chicken – surprisingly good mole and the chicken was well cooked. Really enjoyed this dish but I believe they need to give much more mole (I gave server this feedback). There was just enough to cover the chicken but the chicken should have been sitting in a pool of it, and covered in it.
Cocktails were decent, not amazing.
Nice inviting and warm space.
Overall good visit but could be great with some tweaks.
Last night we went again and honestly it was a big disappointment. We sat at the bar and the bartender didn’t even acknowledge us. He walked away as we were getting seated. Still we were patient since it was late.
We just came in for the same cocktails we had last time but this time they came with no garnish or presentation. That wasn’t a big deal but the drinks were super watered down and that was really disappointing.
To make it worse the bartender gave off such a bad vibe we both felt totally unwelcome.
We’ll be posting photos of the drinks from our first visit compared to what we got last night. Really hoping it was just an off night because that first time was honestly great.
Price point fair and happy hour decent.
The same people that own the Parkside Social and many others, they know what they’re doing.
Charley was great. Will be back especially for the happy hour.
Would love if they added Pacifico to their beer list!
UPDATE, THEY HAVE ADDED PACIFICO!!! THE BEST!
Cocktails – definitely creative, lots of unusual ingredients and processes. We tried multiple and they were all very good (5 stars)
Food – Eugh this is where it went wrong, the appetizers were ok (chicharron and street corn). Then we had the tacos which were very dry, no taste – so unfortunately we couldn’t eat them.
Service – it was early on in the day only 2 staff working so wasn’t as attentive as it could have been, but at the bar i didn’t mind. It may have been different if i was at a table.
