This is truly a great restaurant to have breakfast. The food is made to order and the tortillas are handmade and taste like my grandmother’s and mom used to make. Even the salsa I’d homemade and had that authentic taste to it. For being and old building the restrooms were very clean and the wait staff very friendly and polite. If you happen to be passing through Rio Hondo or even visiting, I highly suggest you stop in. The price is very good and the portions very generous.

I decided to try this place for lunch after reading their rave reviews. Kinda disappointed at the lack luster food. Tables don’t receive chips and salsa in normal Mexican restaurant fashion. The sweet tea tasted like the bag had been brewed through a few times. The food was quite tasteless.

This little place is in the North end of the county. The bean and bacon taco was wonderful. I loved the HOT sauce. The coffee was also very good. They have a number of branding iron art examples on the wall, and that’s about it for decorating, but the food was good and the people are nice.

Worst restaurant I’ve been to in 15 years. Barbacoa plate was $8.99 and didn’t even make a taco. Eggs were raw. Potatoes were at least a day old. Spent $20 for 2 barbacoa plates and 1 pancake for my son who was scared of the rude hostess.
