⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5/5
Noci Gelato is a must-visit in Hartford. Their pistachio gelato is simply awesome – rich, creamy, and packed with flavor. The service is top-notch, with friendly and helpful staff. The place itself is lovely and inviting. I am sorry for the half-cup picture; it was so good I couldn’t help myself! Don’t miss out on this gem!
My partner and I had some amazing gelato on a trip to Portland, ME a couple years ago and we have been looking for a local place that can compare in CT.
The scoops are pricey and WORTH IT. You get what you pay for … the quality of ingredients is obvious.
They also have some unique flavors which is a pet peeve of mine – I understand you have to please the masses but give me some creativity on the menu as well which they definitely do have. We enjoyed the Biscoff Crumble and Cherry Amaretto.
If you are looking for gelato this is a must try 10/10!!
Edit: Also the place is aesthetically beautiful forgot to add that!!
I tried fig & almond; it’s an interesting flavor but too sweet for my taste.
The lemon basil is very good— a bit sour, very fragrant, and very light.
But I got the pistachio at the end, and it’s amazing! (Still a bit sweet but not too sweet.)
There’s no seating indoors so as it’s gotten colder, we’ve enjoyed taking our gelato down to the cove to watch the sunset or something of that nature. They also have a few baked goodies and some really good coffee as well.
We’ve gone many times as a weekend treat and look forward to continuing to visit frequently.
If you’ve ever wondered what stepping into an authentic Italian gelateria feels like, look no further than Noci Gelato in Old Wethersfield. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by the warm and hospitable husband-and-wife team, whose passion for quality and craftsmanship is evident in every detail.
I started my visit with a Mocha Latte, made with organic milk, imported Italian coffee, and rich Valrhona milk chocolate that’s kept warm and poured straight from a fountain at the counter. The experience alone is worth the trip! It was decadently smooth, more of a dessert-like hot chocolate than a strong coffee drink—pure indulgence.
Sampling the gelato was a treat in itself, especially since they serve tastes on gold spoons (which aren’t just for looks—they help keep the gelato cold!). Every flavor was thoughtfully crafted, with highlights including:
Hazelnut – Absolute perfection. It tastes like Nutella but better—rich, nutty, and not overly sweet.
Nocciola Praline – A dream for Ferrero Rocher lovers! The hazelnut and praline combination is pure magic.
Goat Cheese Cashew Caramel – This was one of the most unique flavors I tried. You get the tangy goat cheese first, followed by the nuttiness of the cashew, and a caramel finish that lingers beautifully. A must-try for goat cheese fans!
Salted Pecan – The perfect balance of salty and sweet, with the pecans adding an irresistible crunch.
Biscoff Crumble – Buttery, spiced cookies with a delightful crunch, yet not overly sweet.
Tahitian Vanilla Bean – Simple yet exceptional, with real vanilla beans scraped into the gelato for an authentic flavor.
Spring Spumoni – Tart cherries give way to a subtle sweetness, making this a lovely seasonal offering.
Lavender Lemonade (Spring Special) – Fresh lemon juice, poppy seeds, spirulina, and lavender flowers come together for a bright and refreshing springtime treat.
They also always offer vegan options, and on my visit, they had:
Soil – A deep, cocoa nib-infused vegan gelato.
Peach Coconut – More coconut-forward than peach, with a wonderfully toasted coconut finish.
I couldn’t leave without an affogato, and it was absolute perfection—rich, creamy gelato melting into bold espresso, the perfect pairing. Their cannoli was light, crispy, and incredibly fresh. And if you’re in the mood for something extra indulgent, their Kouign-Amann with Dubai Chocolate topping (with hazelnut and pistachio drizzle) is pure decadence.
One more detail that sets Noci Gelato apart? Their waffle cones are made in-house—fresh, crisp, and the perfect complement to their silky gelato.
Beyond the exceptional flavors, Noci Gelato stands out for its commitment to quality and sustainability. They use no artificial food dyes, no plastic, and everything is biodegradable—a rare and commendable touch.
If you’re anywhere near Old Wethersfield, do yourself a favor and visit Noci Gelato. Whether you’re savoring a classic flavor or venturing into something adventurous, every bite is a reminder of why true artisan gelato is worth seeking out.
