One of favorite Colombian restaurants for years now open in Hazlet and as expected the food and service did not disappoint. Glad to have them closer to home.

It is great to have an option to grab chicharonnes, beans and rice at a drive-through. Ordered 2 dinner plates and a sandwich. The food was hot, and flavorful. Understandibly, The drive through took a little longer than it takes to get a cheeseburger, but worth it for a great meal, full of quality.

I’m very excited that now we have a Colombian restaurant with bakery around, thats what the area was missing. Today I got a bunch of pandebonos and empanadas-everything was delicious, my whole family couldn’t stop eating. Unfortunately, this time i didn’t see buñuelos, idk if they have them on the menu.

We have been to Noches de Colombia in Englewood and Elizabeth, both excellent food and service. The Hazlet location is new so we wanted to try it out. The location is smaller but with enough seats to accommodate. There is table service and a take out area where you can order pastries. The place was clean as were the bathrooms. We ordered a bandeja paisa, mar y mar, kids chicken fingers with fries and drinks. All were excellent and fresh. The food and drink portions were a bit smaller than the larger restaurants and the chicharron was smaller and harder. We’re used to thick, meaty chicharron so this was our only gripe. We will return and mention it when we order so hopefully we will get a better portion. The menu isn’t the same as the larger locations but have very good options with some entrees that we. have not seen in Elizabeth or Englewood. The waiter and staff were polite and the food came out super fast, faster than the larger restaurants. Overall very positive experience. Be aware that restaurants are charging extra for credit card use and that the tip maybe included. Check your receipt before paying. I’m used to a tip being included with parties or 6 or more but have had the tip included with 2 people at the Elizabeth location. At Hazlet we were a group of 4 and it was included.

Normally I truly like this place, but today was bad. We have been coming here since the day they opened. First, staff is constantly changing, with different standards of service. Today was another new server. Young Dominican woman, polite but not a good server. 3 tables when we walked in, 1 finished the other 2 already eating. Within 2 minutes of sitting down, she asks if we are ready to order, a little quick and before asking about beverages. We ordered beverages and appetizers, the counter girl brought us our drinks waitress was not around. She brings appetizers and we order our entrees. Insisting on an item we order every time we come and at every other Noches we have been to, that they don’t serve bistec empanizado. We tell her that they do make it with the bistec on the menu and upcharge. Entrees arrive, no check back on food quality, never came back for beverage refills. 3 more tables come in and it is like we don’t exist. Have to wave her down to place a to go order and request a box. Then she proceeded to inform us that what we ordered is not called bistec but is carne assado. Every Noches de Columbia has it labeled as bistec. Perhaps she needs to learn the menu, learn the difference between Columbian and Dominican dialects and not to try and embarass the guest. BTW my husband who is Puerto Rican ordered in Spanish to help her out. I observed her taking care of her first tables with great service returning to them several times. Was it because they were mainly white women? Was it because we were a mixed family? Was it because my husband was the only Puerto Rican man there? I don’t know, but she lost out on a large tip and only received 15%. She made our experience very poor. It will be a long time before we return to the Hazlet location. We will get our food from Union City, North Bergen or the Elizabeth locations.

I was originally very excited to have a Colombian restaurant near me. However, once it opened up and I tried the food I was very disappointed. This is NOT authentic Colombian food, some of the names are not even the correct names for the food. Also, the food is very bland and it’s very different than the other “Noches De Colombia” in other cities.

I was glad to see a Colombian restaurant/bakery in the area. I tried it a few times over the last two weeks. Honestly the food can be a hit or miss at time, but it is mostly bland. However, I ordered a side of Papas Chorradas, but they handed me potatoes with just tomatoes paste with no flavor. I went back and they told me this is how they always make this dish. However, that is not true since I been adding the same side for 2 weeks and it comes with sautéed onions and a decent sauce. I explain that to their associates and manager, so they said they will fix it by giving me a new order. They came out with what looks like a water down version of just tomato paste. At this point I rejected the new order and won’t be coming back here again. Overall I was disappointed with my experience there and the food was just okay. Hopefully, this new business brings better competitor into town with better tasting Colombian food. One last side note — lower your music to a reasonable volume.

No flavor @ all in the very dry/bland & extremely large in size plantains, the guacamole was brownish very distasteful to even want to taste it when we did it was just as it looked, disappointing, the sizes are well proportioned for the meats ordered but extremely salty! That is why I gave the 1 star for the meat orders were thick…still, quality & taste plus cost are the top standards in food ordering. I have been to many of the restaurants of this restaurant chain. To be to the point…to be a “NEW” opening it was extremely disappointing indeed.

We’ve been to this location 3x since they have opened. We ate there, ordered to pick up, and ordered drive thru. All 3x the food was as expected. The pricing is just right. You get a home cooked meal for the same price as a fast food meal, and it’s healthier. The service was great, everyone I encountered spoke both English and Spanish. The restaurant was very clean, and the staff very friendly. If you want a healthier option and a taste of a home cooked meal, try Aires de Colombia.
