What an exceptional dining experience, made truly memorable by fresh, high-quality ingredients and a fantastic set menu that highlights the best of the season. Each course was beautifully prepared by Chef Nobu himself, who was warm, personable, and engaging throughout the meal. His attention to detail and passion for the craft made the evening feel special and intimate. The service team was equally outstanding and were attentive, friendly, and thoughtful from start to finish. Altogether, it was an amazing and unforgettable evening that perfectly blended incredible food with genuine hospitality. Be sure to make reservations!

It was delicious and unique. I’ve never eaten Uni like this. Wasabi is used in most courses, be warned. A true STL gem, uniquely intimate with only 6 seats at the sushi bar. It’s just you, Chef Nobu and his wife, son, and a server Emma. Service was impeccable. Wine pairing was a plus. Reserve ahead!

This was the most unique dining experience I have had. The setting felt very exclusive. The food was all very good, and even fish I had tried before and disliked at other places was very good. The food was fresh, and we left feeling satisfied but not stuffed.

One of the best places I’ve ever eaten and worth every penny. We went for the 3 course option for our anniversary. They wished us a happy anniversary and even brought us both a complimentary glass of prosecco! The food was extremely high quality and prepared perfectly. The service was flawless. Just perfect for our special occasion.

This was one of the most amazing, intimate, and well orchestrated dining experiences I have ever had. Chef Nobu and his family welcome you as if you are old friends dining in their home. Every little detail is executed with great care and precision to provide the best sushi experience you can get anywhere close to St. Louis. We are grateful for this opportunity to enjoy a true master chef in his own element and cannot wait to return. You can tell that providing this experience is what makes Chef Nobu happy! Thank you!!

Exceptional experience! Every course was incredible and noteworthy, and each bite was made with care. I will be dreaming about the sardines, unagi, and red snapper bone broth until we get a chance to go back.
I also loved the omakase experience and getting to talk with the chefs as they worked.
A great place to celebrate a special birthday!

Nobu’s transformation from a sushi restaurant to an omakase-style dining experience is quite remarkable. The interior design is stunning with its coastal charm blended seamlessly with a traditional Japanese aesthetic. The tasting menu is exceptional, showcasing the finest quality fish and precise cuts that left me satisfyingly full—a rarity in my omakase experiences. However, a word of caution about the steep alcohol prices; even a standard Sapporo comes with a hefty tag. An incident worth mentioning involved a wine recommendation—a Chardonnay priced at $25 per glass on the menu that turned out to be $50 when the bill arrived, due to an outdated menu. This oversight led to an uncomfortable end to an otherwise delightful meal. Nonetheless, for those in St. Louis seeking sushi that surpasses the ordinary, Nobu’s is a destination that promises to deliver.

Went there with my sister, who works there, best meal experience ever! It was so much fun! The server timed the plates such that we didn’t lose focus on the food trip we went on, of which every plate was fantastic, luxurious, authentic. I got a cold sake on the side to sip on between bites, perfect for the meal. I will keep going back for sure.

ACTUAL JAPANESE FOOD!! I like American-style sushi, but when I want authentic Japanese cuisine, I go here.
Update for new location: the omakase was amazing! I love the new vibe, how open and bright the dining space is, the service was great, the food was literally the best seafood I’ve had in Missouri, and the plating was beautiful. It’s literally only 3 people in the kitchen–the Nobu family–so reservations are necessary. Plan ahead and you will be rewarded with the best Japanese food in the city.

Cozy and modern restaurant. We had their set menu dinner and sat at a table. We were the only table at the time but dinner picked up at the bar. The entire staff consisted of 4 people – the family; they were Japanese polite. All sushi was very fresh and I usually don’t eat raw fish. Cooked entrees were balanced in flavor. House made matcha dessert and red bean is a must!
