So glad to see a good Japanese Steakhouse return to the lake. We had a bit of a wait but it was well worth it. They only had three chefs working a full house but they were doing a great job. Food was fantastic. New Owners are super nice. Highly recommend.

Our son is getting braces tomorrow so we let him choose a special dinner. His favorite is Japanese Steak House and we have never found a great one in Charlotte until tonight..our boys said all of the following “mom and dad- when can we come back again? This is the best place we’ve ever been! Can you give this place a 10 star review” when I told him 5 star is the best we can do on google- he said “well can you give them two- 5 star reviews”. Everything from the service, the experience and the food was excellent and is our new favorite restaurant in the Lake Norman area! The entire staff and owner go over and beyond and it’s no surprise they have raving fans with our family!

10/10 recommend. They have only been open for a short time, but really seem to have their stuff together! I’ve never visited a Japanese Steakhouse that serves both noodles and rice with your meal, what a treat! The food was delicious as well. Service was amazing. The owner came to our table and personally thanked us for visiting which meant a lot. Super clean restaurant and seemed very well organized. Will visit again!

I used to travel for over an hour to get a really good quality Japanese hibachi. I tried this place for the first time and I was astonished at how good the food is. By far the best Japanese steakhouse in the area. I am a stickler for good Japanese hibachi and I have to say this place is at the top of my list for the area. Will definitely be back.

Nice to have a Tappenyaki place back in the area. We made a reservation, but didn’t need it. Sat down right away. Service was swift. Beverages, soup and salad all arrived briskly. Hibachi Filet, scallop, chicken were all hot and delicious. Standard shrimp appetizer then sides of veggies, noodles, and fried rice.

Overall a good experience. The chefs were fun and the food was pretty good – steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, and the fried rice had a decent amount of seasoning. Noodles (think they just used spaghetti noodles) were a bit plain for me, but everything else was flavorful. We had a large group so we were split over two tables, but they did a good job of serving us in a timely fashion.

Really excellent hibachi-style steakhouse. Excellent staff, management, food, and showmanship. A huge step up from the previous restaurant or any other places which have tried to offer the same in the past 15+ years. Gave 4 stars for atmosphere ONLY because it’s just getting rebooted and it’s still kind of austere. The rooms/tables are comfortable, wait-staff was attentive and positive, and the hibachi chef was terrific. A really pleasant surprise and we’ll be back again soon.

We are so happy that we get an amazing Japanese Steakhouse in our area again. Everything was delicious. I am always looking at how clean a restaurant. Wow! Not only was the entire restaurant clean but the bathroom was so clean it smelt good. Thank you to all the staff and the owner for an amazing night. We will definitely be back.

So my husband and I were excited to see someone reopening “the old Kobe”, there is nowhere to get good hibachi nearby anymore. Based on the reviews we wanted to see for ourselves. We showed up about 530pm on a Saturday, and since it was just us, we asked to sit at the bar instead of taking up room at a table. We got steak and shrimp to split since we knew it was probably a lot of food. Both of us ate off of the same plate, were stuffed, and still took a box to go! I am normally a HUGE fan of ginger on my steak, but our waitress recommended a “mustard sauce.”……DO NOT sleep on that!!! It was delicious!!! Highly recommended and we will be going back.
