Noble Rot has re-opened – July, 2020 … perched atop an award-winning, environmentally forward, Leed-Platinum 4-story building (the greenest!). Our windows offer a unique vista and the finest view of the city in Portland. In the warm summer months we open the windows for better views and breezes. The best way to drink at Noble Rot is through our wine flights, a sample of three different wines, several offered each day. Additionally, we have a 300+ bottle list, over 40 wines by the glass and an expertly crafted cocktail selection. Noble Rot’s highly-regarded, locally-sourced, seasonal menu evolves daily, but includes some menu standards. The 3000 sq ft roof top garden supplies many ingredients for the menu.

4th-floor wine bar offering city views & small plates featuring ingredients from a rooftop garden.

Where to dine – Portland City Grill or Noble Rot? : r/askportland

Portland City Grill is kinda upscale mediocre, if that makes sense. It’s overpriced & not special. People go there for the views. Noble Rot has …

We went with a reservation, which was a good call and got seating on the outside patio facing the beautiful cityscape. But there are no bad seats in that place. Very comfortable with gorgeous views from every location. Indoor or out. We went with the specials and stuck with what was in season, which was a very good call. The wines looked incredible, but we went with the triple dry hop (TDH) Von Ebert brewery. Such an incredible beer. We made it in time for some happy hour, which was fun. We ordered the pickle plate and the olives which were delightful, but the highlight was the onion torte for an appetizer. I appreciated the balsamic vinegar glaze, although my partner did not FYI. But the best flavors for us was the fresh gazpacho, The grilled octopus, A delicious green salad from the rooftop garden, and the pasta with crab, corn, and tomatoes. Such a delicious experience for all the senses. And our server, Rosa was attentive, conscientious, and very good suggestions around specials. Cannot miss an experience at this local wine + food institution

We came here on a Thursday night with a reservation, it was a little quiet so probably wasn’t completely necessary. The space is very nice and has a beautiful bar. Our server was knowledgeable and nice. We had the cheese board, the salmon and the duck. Our entrees took about 30-40 minutes. The duck had good flavor but came out a little under for my preference.

It was absolutely amazing. I proposed to my girlfriend of 5 years here & the manager let me go up to their rooftop garden. The best proposal ever! Overlooking the beautiful downtown Portland. Absolutely amazing place and the owner was extremely accommodating. She set up lights on the garden for us before we went up. 10/10 would recommend every single time. Thank you Noble Rot!

If I could give 6 I would!! It was such amazing service and food, even my French partner couldn’t stop raving about it. Mr. Miller was especially friendly and made us feel welcome from the very beginning to the end! Overall, I higly recommend and will be back.

I can’t say enough good things about Noble Rot- the food is fantastic!
We ordered the burrata, halibut, steak and the PB+J for dessert. In my opinion, the halibut stole the show. Fresh ingredients masterfully played for layers of flavor in every bite.
I inhaled the halibut before grabbing a photo- so just imagine it on the empty plate here

We were glad to have a reservation at this Portland staple. It was a nice evening so we chose the patio seating which has a nice cityscape view. We started with the wine flight of Italian and South African wines followed by salads and bread. Other dishes at our table included the burger, pasta, and soup. All were tasty. As is with most restaurants these days, they are loud and not conducive to intimate conversation without shouting across the table. Since we were celebrating a birthday, we had the chocolate cake with ice cream. Yum…

Had a wonderful sunset dinner at the rooftop restaurant. I’m so glad I trusted my gut and tried something new. I ordered the chickpea panisse with squash, which is not something I usually choose since I rarely opt for vegetarian dishes, but it seemed appealing. It was absolutely fresh and delicious—possibly the best vegetarian dish I’ve ever had! I’m going to try to recreate it at home since I live out of town. My husband had the mac and cheese, which was the perfect combination of creamy and crunchy.

We had a wonderful waitress who made perfect recommendations on the menu and things to do while visiting.

Beautiful view! Wonderful service. A great place to go for a special occasion. The halibut was absolutely phenomenal and I highly recommend it! The lamb my husband got was good but not great. It was cooked perfectly but the croquettes were bland and the vegetables were not at all seasoned. At $40 a dish the veggies should have gotten more attention. Good wine selection and enjoyed the wine flight options. Overall, I’m glad we came here to celebrate my birthday! It was lovely! But if it weren’t for the beautiful view I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s worth the price point.
