From the moment I saw the name No Way José, I should’ve trusted my instincts. It sounded less like a confident promise and more like a polite warning.
As someone from Texas, where Mexican food isn’t just cuisine it’s culture, tradition, and borderline religion. I kept waiting for the seasoning to kick in, for the salsa to wake me up, for something to remind me why I love this food so much. It never came.
It became clear pretty quickly that this place thrives on location and convenience, not passion. It’s the spot you go to because it’s there not because it deserves to be. Tourists might not know the difference, but if you’ve tasted real Mexican food, the kind that makes you pause mid-bite and nod in respect, you’ll understand.

My experience at No Way Jose’s Cantina wasn’t good at all. After being seated, no one ever came to our table to take our order or even acknowledge us. We waited for a while hoping someone would check in, but unfortunately that never happened.
The lack of service was disappointing, especially since the restaurant seemed lively and had a lot of potential. Without being greeted or served, we ultimately decided to get up and walk out. It was frustrating and definitely not the experience we were expecting. Hopefully management can improve staff attentiveness so future guests don’t have the same experience.

Outside seating was nice and cool in the stone patio. I was hot out that day and nice and cool to sit there with a beautiful view to enjoy while we ate. Quick service and delicious, authentic food. One of the highlights of our trip, I’ve wanted to try this place for years and we will definitely be returning!!

We had LeBron as our server. He was nice, helpful and easy going. We sat at a booth on the creek side at a window. The chips and salsa were great (perfectly fried chips and lightly salted) (salsa was fresh and chunky, in a good way). The fries were surprisingly good for a Mexican restaurant.
My wife and I shared an outrageous burrito. It was the perfect portion to share. The outrageous burrito had everything on it. Great choice!

We have been back at this location three times since we started traveling to TN. Absolutely love the food, especially the Sizzling Chicken dish!! Every-time we are there the service is phenomenal! Would definitely recommend! Environment is awesome!! No way Jose is the best!!

The servers were spectacular and so fast. They were also friendly and funny, very attentive, and a true delight.
This is a very authentic Mexican restaurant. Robust flavors, fresh ingredients, and good size portions at a fantastic price.
I truly enjoyed the food and experience.
I had a beef taco, chicken burrito, rice, beans, a stuffed pepper (I forget the proper name of it), and a margarita. My kids got a taco woth fries and chicken wings with dipping sauces. All delicious.

I ordered a fajita toco salad with steak. They ask me what kind of salad dressing I want. DRESSING? I WANT the white cheese sauce. She brings it to me with the sizzling hot pan with the steak in it. I had to cut it and put it in my salad. Tomatoes in mine and my niece’s garden salad were so small you couldn’t get on in a bite. Never again will I pay for food or service like that again at No Way Jose’s. Horrible.

Food was okay, can’t go wrong with Mexican. The restaurant wasn’t busy. We were able to sit in the open are part of the establishment with a view of the river and intersection. Good place to people watch.

The food has no flavor. The service was extremely mediocre for being only one table in the bar. The portion size was fine but the food was just blah. The saving grace was the guacamole and the cheese dip.

Somewhat underwhelming experience. Our server didn’t seem like he wanted to be there. While efficient he was not at all friendly or engaging. The food was not bad but it did seem to be a bit bland. We’ve been to this establishment a number of times through the years and it feels like it’s really dropped off.
