We ordered from here again tonight deciding to give the place another chance. My husband ordered Rocky mocha blast which is a coffee flavored ice cream with Oreos and cookie dough. What he received was Peanut Butter Brownie. He is quite allergic to peanut butter so this is an issue. Peanut butter is a COMMON allergy. It is something every establishment should be careful about. This is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE and DANGEROUS! If you have an allergy of any kind I do not recommend patronizing this establishment. They are careless and reckless. It did not used to be like this. I’m not sure when this place went so downhill but it’s really not the standard we’ve come to expect from the handels name. We are officially done with this location and potentially Handel’s chains as a whole if this is what they think is acceptable from their franchisees.

They really like to skimp on the mix ins lately. The one on south ave doesn’t skimp but this location has been a lot lately. This is their new Not Your Average Dough flavor not even a single “pretzel swirl” and there was a total of 2 pieces of cookie dough. These owners are really stingy and soiling the reputation handel’s has built for themselves over many years.

Ordered a vanilla shake, staff was friendly, the shake was phenomenal. Not too thick or too watery, it hit the spot with a great consistency and taste! Definitely recommend this place for some good dessert!

There’s ice cream and then there’s Handel’s. Literally, people come from all over the world to taste their amazing ice creams. They’ve been a staple in Youngstown for decades and just seem to get better each year. The menu is extensive but only secondary as you can order anything on it and find yourself wishing you had opted for a larger size! There’s definitely a fifties vibe to all their locations with a helpful staff and fast moving lines. Prices are fair, considering they provide world-class confections!

Beautiful day in March to try this ice cream store. I had a vanilla caramel sundae. It may sound boring, but this is something that I like. I have never been here before their scooped ice cream is very creamy. The vanilla wasn’t too flavorful not crazy about the caramel sauce, and the whipped cream tasted like canned whipped cream, not fantasticpeople that had cones they were huge. They looked very tasty. I would probably never get another Sunday there at least not a caramel one you can tell their ice cream is creamy and there’s plenty of flavors.

I ordered a four-scoop sampler this evening and discovered that one of the scoops was the incorrect flavor. Furthermore, the scoop was the smallest I have ever encountered in a sampler. As a resident of the Salt Lake City, Utah area, I have never observed a Handels location with such limited scoop sizes. The scoop was exceptionally small. I advise you to improve your practices and prioritize customer satisfaction. The incorrect flavor was not apparent until I returned to my hotel, as it was contained in a paper bag. The small scoops will deter me from returning along with the wrong flavor. I recommend double-checking the contents before departing to avoid similar issues. You’ll thank me later.
