Will fill the crave if you have one. I’ve come here twice now usually with friends!
The vegetarian curry was pretty damn good, the katsu curry was good but the katsu itself could have used more flavor.
Obviously not as tasty as the Japan chain curries but pretty damn good.
The curry is beef based and extremely rich in flavor. Just savory, umami filled deliciousness. Almost like a gravy. I ordered it with the pork cutlet which was fresh out of the fryer, thin, and slightly crispy. Just the way you want it in your curry. There was just the right amount of rice and a side of pickled vegetables to add some tartness once in awhile was perfect.
The restaurant is located across from a school and there isn’t a ton of street parking in the area. I was there on a Sunday so it wasn’t bad, but imagine it can be difficult during peak times. The restaurant has about 10 counter seats and a few more spots where you can eat standing up, so it isn’t large. A lot of their business is take-out/delivery as there was a pretty consistent stream of people picking things up.
The service was super-friendly and quick. I’d highly recommend this place!
I got the pork katsu with the potato croquette and my partner got the chicken katsu with the Aji Fry (mackerel).
Also the restaurant has a nice well lit, cozy setting with soft music playing in the background. Perfect for a date! I highly recommend!
Plus, if you are vegetarian they have options for you too.
