Established in 1981 by chef and late owner Mark Gress, The Nine-Eleven Tavern has been a popular meeting place for the people of Buffalo and is well-known for its wings and tavern fare. With a back room and attached deck, it’s the perfect place to sit down with family or catch up with friends. The kitchen closes at 8:30pm. Last call at the bar is at 10:00pm. Closed Sundays and Mondays. We have a very small kitchen and therefore are limited to in-house dining only. We do not offer take-out. We’re sure you understand. Seating is first come, first serve. We are unable to accommodate parties larger than 6.

I was there at the bar when the two previous reviewers were there. Their recollection of events could not be more inaccurate. No one was rude(or ever is, unless they are treated that way first) and the fact that people can’t understand or are willing to follow an establishment’s policies is not the establishment’s problem. It’s a customer problem. The policies have been in place for 41 years so those two need to grow up. Food is world class at best and better than most at its worst. Atmosphere is wonderfully comfortable and welcoming and the staff does an amazing job considering their size and level of business. Which can go from 0-100 in a matter of minutes, hence those pesky policies!!!

Featuring a simple menu and only three styles of wings (Hot, Medium, and Mild) this is the place to go for the BEST wings in Buffalo. Large, saucy, and crispy. They don’t get better than this. The serving of seasoned fries is generous and oh so delicious too! Nondescript restaurant/bar with limited indoor and outdoor seating. Make sure you have your cash because credit cards are not accepted. I literally have nothing negative to say about any of my numerous visits to this hole-in-the-wall, out of this world locale. Fun fact: the name comes from their address. If you’re standing in the bar you’re at 9 Bloomfield Ave and if you’re in the restaurant you’re at 11 Bloomfield Ave. The more you know!
