This is a great location with so much potential to become a real go-to spot for college students looking for quick and affordable eats. Unfortunately, the higher price point makes it a harder to fit that need.
For example, your classic Coney dog is $5.15, while George’s Coney in Worcester offers a comparable option at $2.95. Both using similar ingredients (Kayem, etc)
You truly have an opportunity to create something memorable here that could serve generations to come, it just might take some rethinking on pricing to really make it accessible.

Nikki’s is a great spot on campus! Awesome food for a cheap price. The hot dogs are fabulous and I am a picky hot dog eater! The service is also great, very sweet staff! Love this place.

Was at the storrs 10/9 @ 4:40 location…there nothing on the walls , understand you just opened.
As far as food my hot dog was barely warm, had the chilli which wasn’t bad but that too wasn’t even hot enough to melt the cheese they put on top..
And when I said something to the worker all he said was sorry..come on you can do better .Toast the rolls making sure your food is tempt properly,
Get it to feel like it’s Mansfield/uconn !!!!
As fair as price ya seems like you can get a better hot dog.
Don’t know what brand you use .but seems like something with more flover!!
My grandson had a burger and it looked like it was steamed, very thin, he said it was ok so I know I wouldn’t have liked it..I know I worked in food service for over 40 years and when food is to be served hot ,it should be hot,not barley warm..I’ve always enjoyed the putnum place

I was really hoping this place would be good. I got a coney dog and a Mexicali dog. The coney dog was alright but the “meat sauce” which was just meat had no flavor the best thing about it was the fresh onions. The Mexicali dog had a Mexican slaw on it which also had no flavor it was just cabbage corn and black beans with nothing added. Both hot dogs were also cold. This place has so much potential but it’s just not executed right.

Wow! Let me say, first impressions are real! I walk in already hating the feel of college campus, but this place changed my feelings! The entire staff greets you with a smile which now a days is rare! The interaction with the staff was heartwarming! They all looked like they were having a great time at work. The food was phenomenal considering it’s just hot dogs. They have no meat hot dogs, they have tacos, desserts and more. They are reasonably priced, and the atmosphere was spectacular! Super clean, super chill and has a comfortable temperature. Being disabled makes it hard to go places, this one was perfect from beginning to end! Definitely recommend going and seeing for yourself!

Was excited to try this place. But was very dissapointed. First off how the heck can you call yourself a hot dog place without chili that was my first issue. So i got one with other stuff on it and the hot dog was tiny and soggy I also ordered a cheeseburger also the thing was paper thin and all bun and not much flavor. It was not a great friendly greeting when entering either everyone was just blah . Its a one and done for me . Too bad I love to support local. Also the cook shouldnt be cleaning and dumping grease while cooking.

Trash! I could prepare a better dog at home. Buns aren’t grilled. Dogs on rollers and not fully cooked. Beef is average at best.

I don’t typically leave reviews but this place is amazing. Restaurant is super clean and the layout aesthetically is very exceptional. The front counter was very kind and the workers were very respectful and friendly. The burger I had was absolutely amazing. Nicki’s has a tradition they’ve followed for years and the low reviews they’ve received are not fair to their business. If people don’t like the steamed buns it doesn’t constitute a bad review. I’d recommend this place to all my friends and family and look forward to seeing this business thrive in their new location and hope the UConn community accept them with open arms.
