Who would ever think that a mobile food truck could whip up some banging food? I ordered the lomo Saltado ,let me tell you it’s one of the best ones I’ve had in Miami, fresh ingredients, fast service, and an excellent portion. What a great lunch. I am absolutely delighted by everything. By exploring the area I found this food truck. I never had such great quality food in a food truck like I did it today. I ordered the pork buns and lomo saltado (Peruvian dish) and it was outstanding. Lots of flavour, texture and even the presentation. Thanks to Agustin who was wonderful serving, cooking and delivering the best food truck meal I ever had.

I used to LOVE this food truck bc it was at the best brewery and had amazing food. Their acevichado roll is outstanding. When Jose managed the truck, we could come every week and tell our friends to come. But since the current food truck operator has been running it (Carlos?), the service is terrible, uncomfortable and even hostile. Once,even though it is a food truck, he very rudely confronted my husband and demanded a bigger tip. (Now, he gives himself an automatic 30 percent tip without asking.) He stopped making my favorite roll,then later stopped serving most of the menu. Whenever I ask for a sauce, he forgets it unless I go back to remind him. The icing on the cake, and the reason for this review, is that I brought a group of girls to Epoca and he ruined the experience. He told us when we arrived he only had 3 things on the menu. We tried to order on the screen that was there and he told us not to bc it wasnt working. As more girls arrived, he later said he only had one thing left on the menu. And between taking our orders, he would disappear. One of the girls decided not to order bc he was so hostile with us. I have been such a fan of Epoca, I held out for years to leave this review. But Im worried this guy will single handedly kill Epocas business, so I found it necessary to let Jose and also Jeff know that this guy is such a liability to an otherwise amazing food truck. I hope management quickly replaces him. We decided to go to Lost City tonight when the guy was hanging out behind the food truck, nowhere to be found, when we wanted to order.

As promised… here’s my update! The Chef Carlos personally reached out to me… he spoke to the delivery company and personally made sure that I received a full refund. Then he gave me a generous discount to try his business again. I love that he reached out to me and took the time to help correct the situation. So, yesterday, I ordered my same order from last time, and added ribs and wings (not on his menu, but he personally made it for me… so cool!) I can’t complain about anything… the food was soooo good! My favorites was the Rock Shrimp, ribs, and sushi! So yummy! The Lomo (beef) was good and he made it well done like I asked… just wish I had a little more rice… next time, I’ll ask if I can switch out the rice and fries for double rice instead. I could eat the rock shrimp and sushi every day, it was so good! But my finances aren’t set up that way lol . But I will definitely be ordering food from Nikkei Miami and Chef Carlos again and I recommend every one to try them out! Thanks Chef… you’ve earned a lifetime client!

I will update this when I receive either my food or full refund. I ordered for over $60 last night for delivery through their online service around 9:30pm. At 10:48pm, they canceled my order. I received no food. I received no refund. I received no explanation except the driver saying that the restaurant was closed. I still have not received an email explaining anything or telling me when I will receive my full refund… this is so upsetting and frustrating. Plus… my partner and I ended up having no dinner last night!

Came by on Sunday to have some amazing peruvian food !! here are all the fotos from our feast xoxo … We ordered a ceviche , arroz chaufa , edaname which is sweet and spicy its delicious… also sushi roll , fish buns, etc… everything here is made to perfection The Chef is the best he also has his own spicy sauce honestly this place needs 10 stars , and you also have a brewery next door which they are kind as well and really good selection to try

Was outstanding a year or two ago when the owner ran the place. Not a fan, though, of the latest manager. Food quality, service, and chef’s attitude diminished. He’s lazy and does not pay attention to the customers. When trying to order, we found him sitting 20 feet outside the food truck playing on his phone ignoring us. I’ll revise this review if the owner returns or hires new management 🙂
