This place was so cute! The outside did look a little unassuming but the inside really did transform me into another world. The food was so tasty and made with love. I am not the biggest fan of fish but even that was tasty. They had us take off our shoes and we even sat at the floor tables but they have more traditional sitting options. I went for my anniversary with my girlfriend and it was truly special I would highly recommend going to this place for any occasion! We got a course dinner and it was the most affordable course dinner I ever had. I know some of the reviews did say the food does take a bit but its made to order course dinners? What did you expect? 10/10

I’ve passed this place by for a while and always been curious. Finally made the effort to go and wow… the atmosphere is nice and quiet with what I imagine feels like pretty traditional/homey decor. It feels like someone invited you to their home for dinner. Don’t let the outside fool you, the food is delicious! The gyoza especially were some of my favorite I’ve ever had! I can’t wait to come back and try other things. An absolute gem/hole in the wall, highly recommend!

This is a great Great spot with authentic Japanese food. It’s especially enjoyable when you can hear the calming Japanese music, or an occasional crunch from the seaweed wraps, over the chatter.

I am very pleased with this restaurant and I think you will be too.

They can be rude. The food is always good though.

Very unassuming place. Serving authentic Japanese fare. It’s good to see family businesses thrive. I had the yakitori and sashimi small portion. All was good except one fish item. The cucumber salad was a nice touch though. I could’ve probably just had a whole yakitori meal instead of just the appetizer portion. Service was really good.

I took Tokyo Inn dinner and its has variable dish with Yakizakana, sashimi, tempra, miso soup and rice. It is typical Japanese Teishoku style meal set. Each of them has variable kind of fish and vegetables. It was only 28 USD. Since we were group of Japanese we took zashiki style table and enjoyed whole food and atmosphere. We Japanese grantee this is real Japanese taste.

THIS PLACE IS AWSOME!!! While the exterior is unusually unassuming, the interior is a fully immersive experience. When you enter you are offered three seating options, table, bar or floor seating. We tryed the floor seating and it was really comfortable. It seems like you can request a cushion with back support if needed but we did not ask about this. The floor is really plush and the cushions are nice. The tables are pretty wide which was great since the entrie meals come in courses. We tried the number 6, Japanese BBQ and the number 12, the Tokyo Family Meal. The Tokyo Family Meal is great if you want to try everything and the Japanese BBQ was so delicious. The beef was so juicy. The sashimi selection was amazing. We have never had squid (at least we think it was squid) but it was amazing here and sliced perfectly. The staff was really nice and everyone else in the restaurant seemed like they were enjoying their meals as well. We will definitely be back and bring our friends next time. Great place for families and friends to try japanese cuisine in San Antonio!!!!

This is my favorite restaurant ever. The food is so traditional and so good I love it so much. Whoever cooks that food needs a big raise cause it is so amazing. By far 10/10 I go every month or so and the service is amazing. My favorite dish is the ramen.

Love the authentic vibe.
No shoes up in the area where you sit on the floor. Best to make a reservation. Nice and quiet atmosphere.

Ordered Beef Yakisoba, Eel Handroll and a Large Sashimi Mix plus a large beer for $53.04

Didn’t have to wait for a table and the server took our order after about 10 minutes after seating. The food took about 30-40 minutes to come out which was a little longer than I expected.

Good: Service and staff were friendly. Atmosphere is quiet and cozy.
Scallop, snapper and chutoro sashimi were decent. Firm, not fishy and tasted fresh.
Yakisoba was a large portion and very flavorful.

Bad: The tuna and salmon sashimi were very mushy and fishy which made me not want to finish the rest of the octopus or mackerel cuts.
The sushi rice in the handroll was EXTREMELY vinegar-y and it was so overwhelming the rest of the roll could not be enjoyed.

My take from this single experience is that I would stick to the kitchen items in the future, if I do visit again.
