Last month my wife and I celebrated our 20 year anniversary. We wanted really great sushi, the food we had on our first date.

We put a lot of thought into where to go. Nijū ‘at the counter’ ended up being the perfect choice.

The menu was creative and intriguing. Each piece of sushi was prepared right in front of us and tasted unbelievably fresh. We were also served a delicious miso soup, an outstanding katsu course, and a lovely dessert.

Head sushi chef David made the experience relaxed and entertaining. In fact, all the staff were warm, attentive, and the service throughout was excellent. They made our celebration feel genuinely special.

Having eaten high end sushi in Japan and across London, the quality at Nijū was right up there with the best we’ve had.

Very highly recommended. Thank you to David and all at Nijū for the special memories.

Everything perfect. The person who welcomed us at reception was lovely, the table staff fantastic. Atmosphere was perfect – just the right balance of feeling a bit special but also relaxed and welcoming.

Every bite of food & sip of drink was amazing. Wouldn’t change a thing. The cocktails were just as good as the food, so I’d recommend a visit to Nipperkin if you only want drinks.

No, it’s not cheap, but it is still good value because of how good it is. Already recommended to people.

Niju London in Mayfair offers a truly polished dining experience, one that immediately sets itself apart from the moment you arrive. The service is seamless, attentive, and intuitively paced, professional without ever feeling formal or forced.

The sashimi and nigiri were the undeniable highlights of the evening. Immaculately fresh, delicately sliced, and exceptionally clean in flavour, the sashimi had a melt-in-the-mouth quality that speaks volumes about the sourcing and skill behind it. The nigiri followed suit that is precise, balanced, and elegant, allowing the quality of the fish to take centre stage.

The drinks connoisseur deserves special recognition for recommending a sake that paired flawlessly with the meal. It was a thoughtful pairing that enhanced the nuances of each dish and demonstrated a genuine depth of knowledge.

Niju strikes a rare balance between refinement and warmth, making it as inviting as it is sophisticated. An outstanding meal shared with my partner, and a restaurant I would return to without hesitation. Niju London is operating at a very high level and is undoubtedly one of Mayfair’s standout dining destinations.

Highly recommended.

We were staying down the street and were craving some sushi. Our reservation was in the early afternoon and the restaurant was empty. We were greeted by the hostess immediately and she was great. Or server was great as well but very pushy on trying to get us to order more food. We ended up over ordering and spending a lot of money on just two people. Food was good, portions are small and it is way overpriced. 4 out of 5 stars

Sat at the counter for the Chef’s Special Menu. Everything was well paced, from light starters to richer sushi like akami and chutoro, with noticeably fresh fish and good balance throughout. Modern but ingredient-focused cooking. A solid choice in Mayfair if you’re open to a contemporary take on Japanese food.

The sushi was delicious, especially nigiri. And cool chill vibe. Cocktail only filled half way (if it’s that amount, at least put in a smaller glass). But very poor service for such a chic establishment. Not very attentive, had to ask multiple times for things. Was told different times when kitchen was closing. Toilets were absolute mess with broken lock, no paper, no paper towels, etc. Disappointing.

Their new early-evening “at the counter” service is amazing. High quality fish in omakase style and chef David handled each piece with precise attention. Definitely coming back for more

I brought my friend here to celebrate her birthday, and it was my first visit after hearing so many great things. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the reception team who kindly showed us to our table. The atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and had a lovely friendly vibe.

My friend is from Japan and has really missed authentic Japanese food, I was hoping to bring her a taste of home, and this place absolutely delivered. We both thoroughly enjoyed the food and the attentive service. The quality was outstanding, some of the best Japanese cuisine we’ve had in a long time.

We went for the 3-course meal and also tried a few dishes from the à la carte menu. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted incredible. I’d definitely come back and highly recommend it, especially if you’re a fan of sashimi!

Ridiculously only one sushi is made by endo, and called it selection sushi by endo and charge more than 250pp. Ingredients are generally cheap and not as fresh. Had huge stomach problem afterwards (pretty sure because it was the only meal I had that day) service is pushy and rude, always interrupted the conversation – even gave me the wrong cocktail immediately after I ordered. Not a good dining experience on new year eve and anniversary don’t think I will go back or recommend it to anyone.
