We recently visited Nicky’s on the Bay and we’re so glad we did! At first, we only planned to stop by the bar for a drink or two, but the experience was so great that we ended up staying for dinner as well.
The bar has been beautifully renovated, now offering clear views of the water and boats passing by. We tried IPA beers from two Local breweries, Ghost Brewery & Westhampton Brewery—ice cold, fresh, and delicious! The bartenders, Eric A., Matt, and Gina, were fantastic—friendly, attentive, and always quick to top off our drinks. While still undecided about dinner, we ordered appetizers at the bar: whipped ricotta (a little spicy but so flavorful) and shrimp cocktail, both excellent.
Since we were already having such a good time, I made a quick reservation on my phone for dinner. We were seated right by the water, and before heading to our table, we watched the sunset from the upstairs deck—absolutely stunning. The views at Nicky’s are some of the best around.
Our server, Lisa D., was amazing—so friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The margaritas she recommended were spot-on. We started with two appetizer specials, yucca fries and burrata—both outstanding. We also tried the crab cakes and lobster bisque. The bisque had a generous amount of lobster (though I wouldn’t have minded a little more), and it was rich and flavorful.
For entrées, we had the everything-crusted tuna and the New York strip. The steak was pricey, but worth every bite—it was cooked perfectly medium rare and absolutely delicious. The tuna was fresh and well-seasoned.
After years of visiting Nicky’s, I have to say this was one of our best experiences yet. We were hesitant at first because of mixed reviews about the new management, but our visit truly exceeded expectations. The staff was attentive and friendly, the manager Eric E. even stopped by to check in, and everything—from drinks to appetizers to entrées—was excellent.
If you’ve been unsure about trying Nicky’s, don’t let the negative reviews hold you back. Give it a chance—you’ll be glad you did. We can’t wait to go back!

We hadn’t been to Nicky’s in many years. Our server, Monica was a complete delight – she made our experience what it was! The updated space is really pretty, the food was pretty good, and water was lovely. I do wish they still had their merchandise, I was disappointed I couldn’t get a souvenir for my anniversary. They used to have cute shirts and hoodies! Overall a nice dinner. 🙂

Went to Nicky’s a couple of times since they opened and I must say change is good. Tried something new each time I went, plus the view does not disappoint. Tried the Braised Short Ribs, Chicken Milanese and shrimp scampi. Everything was delicious. The Malibu Pineapple Mojito, it was just perfect.
Went with a different group of family and friends each time and everyone enjoyed.
Staff were super friendly helpful. If you haven’t yet, you must give this place a try. Will not disappoint.

The place was really nice the food was really great. The prices were very reasonable. My husband took me for my birthday we had a awesome time. Our server Megan was amazing. There was only one thing that I wish they have the servers to sing Happy Birthday to customers to make them feel good on their special day.

Nicky’s on the bay is a must for anyone who enjoys great food, outstanding atmosphere, super friendly staff and amazing views. The new owner and his team are driven by excellence in everything they do and provide. The menu is always changing with new innovative choices with specialty cocktails, appetizers and entrees finished off with delicious desserts. All while enjoying the summer breeze, the view of the bridge and fire island ferries.
You can sit inside, outside and even a rooftop too with music and such a great vibe.
Come by car or boat but for sure just come and enjoy a very special experience.

Nicky’s on the Bay exceeded all expectations. The Thai Chili Calamari and Crab Cakes were the perfect start—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The Braised Short Rib was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the Halibut was spot on. Incredible food, great atmosphere—highly recommend.

We so enjoyed our first visit to Nicky’s on Sunday . The atmosphere was fantastic. A gorgeous view and we loved watching all the ferrys and boats passing by. Our server Kat was the best. She offered up suggestions to us as it was our first time and she was on point. I’m not much of a seafood eater so she suggested the short ribs and they were like butter. Appetizers of mussels and clams and even the shrimp cocktail were so fresh and just the right way to start the meal. My husband and daughter both had the Parmesan Halibut and both plates were cleaned!!! We ended our night with the monkey bread a la mode and it was just right. Not too sweet and the ice cream was refreshing. Drinks were great (and strong). Things quickly added up and the bill was high but you pay for the freshness and for the view. We will definitely be retuning. Maybe on a night with some live music.

If you like sitting outside overlooking the bay and certain ferry boats, this place is for you. 6 entrees ordered all except 1 on point. The one meat dish, was just too salty. Watermelon salad, little necks on the half shell and the popover were terrific. Kudos to the popover!

We hosted a bridal shower there and it went amazing! Haley was so helpful and patient. The food was phenomenal. The water views were phenomenal. The staff was excellent. It went better than I could’ve ever imagined. I got a lot of positive feedback from people on how wonderful the restaurant was and how delicious the food was. Definitely recommend!
