I was wanting to try some other pizza places in my area and figured I’d give Nick’s a try. They are in a small strip mall almost right at the intersection of Marsh and Silverside Rd and have a nice amount of parking. On the inside, Nick’s definitely feels like a neighborhood watering hole and restaurant. Nice warm vibes, a wrap-around bar, plenty of seating and even some arcade machines in the back while you wait for your meal. I definitely had some great service, too. The servers were attentive and ensured I was taken care of and gladly answered my questions. They also made sure I had a nice chilled glass for my beer as well.
As for the menu, this is very much what you’d expect from a local Italian and pizza restaurant. Pizzas, cheesesteaks, hoagies, some pasta dishes; almost like a greatest hits of the Philly area for many of these restaurants. As for their pizza, they have a thin crust and a “Detroit” style pizza (though I would argue it would be Sicilian-style as they also serve tomato pies and those are often the base for most thick-crust pizzas in the area). One big note here is that they will typically bake pizzas to “well done” so expect a bit more of a crunch on the crust as well as some of the bite from a well-done pizza. However, I felt that it worked very well with the pepperoni and spinach pizza I ordered. The cheese was just right for me – nice and gooey – and the pepperoni and spinach was very fresh and done just right. And the crust had just the right amount of crispiness and flavor to tie it all together. I washed that all down with a nice pint of ‘Ganset as why not (a pint of Narraganset or Natty Boh is just a little more than a fountain drink at $4) and they bring out a chilled glass for you to pour it in.
I will definitely be coming back here as I want to try their thicker crust pizza or try one of their cheesesteaks. This has a great neighborhood atmosphere and so far great pizzas, too.

Highly recommend! Detroit Pizza SO delicious. Cheesesteaks, one of the best. Also enjoy the house salad and the french fries with Cooper sharp cheese sauce. Favorite drink is Weekend at Eddie’s and served up by the amazing Eddie is just the best! Staff is fabulous. Great place all-around.

Amazing! All around, can’t say enough great things about this place. This is the 2nd time I’ve eaten here, 4th time visiting in total. Pizza, cheesesteaks, and apps are delicious, drinks are top notch, service is friendly and quick, and the nostalgic atmosphere is the icing on the cake. Also, this breakfast sandwich is top 5!!! Unreal salute to Joey T’s and Helen’s Sausage. Nick is a true genius when it comes to food. I can’t wait to see what he has up his sleeve as this place grows.

Been here a handful of times. Last time was outstanding (others also super good). Got a standard pizza, half cheese half pepp, was perfectly cooked as you can see from my pic. Also got a cheesesteak and fries. Probably my fav cheesesteak in Wilmington, not the most photogenic of sandwiches, but trust me. The fries were shockingly good. Don’t always love hand cuts, but they obviously do these right. The seasoning on them was on point. Service is always good. I usually sit at the bar, and the bartenders are great. Did standard table service when my parents were in town, and also great service. Would recommend for sure.

I desperately wanted this food to slap. It was nothing more than a bunch of hype and the execution fell flat. $90 bucks will get you 2 pies, 20 wings, and an order of cooper sharp cheese sticks. The star of the show was the Detroit style pepperoni pizza which was mid. The white pizza was beyond well done, the undercarriage was burnt and every single bite was overpowered with a burnt charcoal flavor. For a white pizza, the garlic must have been on vacation. The buffalo wings were dry and chewy… they were grossly overcooked to the point where the skin and protein shrunk so much it separated from the bones leaving bare bones exposed. I love cooper sharp, I loved the cheese sticks… it was reminiscent of eating a grilled cheese with the texture of a non-crunchy corn dog coating. I appreciate the experience and the “artisanal” approach, but unfortunately everything missed the mark.

We dove by Nick’s and found it by accident. The parking lot was full so this was a good sign. All of the dishes I saw looked tremendous which made choosing difficult. The service was excellent, the food was tasty and the price was reasonable. We have been back multiple times this fall!

12×12 sesame crust was our favorite pizza ever! Sauce so fresh crust so good and hot out of the oven. Cheesesteak with fried onions and cooper sharp was unfortunately under flavored. Needed more salt more cheese and more onions.
The kitchen needs to cut the pizza better. At the table we struggle to separate the slices.
Second time 12×12 sesame still great but wished we asked for well done. Crispy dough that Nick has perfected is what put him on the map since Union St
Third time same 12×12 sesame, our favorite pizza ever, was missing cheese and sauce on three of six slices. I do enjoy the crust most but I want cheese and sauce on every slice. Love this place.

Do it for the dough! The pizza crusts and breads here are so delicious. Also anything with the Cooper sharp cheese sauce is worth having. Definitely in our rotation of favorite local spots!

I got to try Nick’s for the first time last night, and I’ve gotta say it was a damn good pizza. I got a pepperoni hot honey with some Cooper sharp sticks, my partner got a BBQ chicken pizza, and our friend got a Detroit-style pepperoni and extra cheese pizza. The service was great, especially because they were busy, but that’s understandable for their first month open. The pizza was great with crispy crust and a good flavor throughout. The only minor complaint I have is that when paying $3 for toppings, the pizza should have plenty of that topping on it, which mine did not. Other than that, it was great food, I mean look at that cheese pull! I’ll be back soon for a cheesesteak!

This is one of the best Pizza’s I’ve tried! We got the Detroit style pepperoni pizza with hot honey and it was just PERFECT! The cheese, sauce, dough and crisp was out of this world. You can really taste that they use quality ingredients and that everything is fresh! I love the decor and the nostalgic games as well
