Nick’s on Second St. is a well established restaurant with a nice upscale, Louisiana feel. The outdoor dining courtyard is well appointed with a bar, TV, fans and heaters. This space was used for a small event I attended recently and we enjoyed it quite a bit. I regret not getting pictures of the artwork and outdoor area for the review.
The food overall on my visit was not spectacular. My wife got the lady ribeye which I described out loud as “chewy”. The fried shrimp poboy was average at best. My experience with the food would have been a 3 star rating but the ambiance, friendly staff and courtyard gets this place an extra star.
I regret not getting photos of the courtyard because it truly raised the experience on a nice day ensuring Nick’s 4 star rating.

Nice friendly service. We were there early, so, not many customers yet. Really fast service. Food was good & hot. Asked waitress to take pic of us, as it was our anniversary. She very kindly did that for us. . By the time we left, many tables were occupied. Enjoyed our lunch as it was quiet, & we were able to have conversation. My husband wears hearing aides, & when a place is noisy, he. Cant understand me. Here, we were able to relax , talk & enjoy our meal.

Collin was out server and he was top tier. Very attentive and super sweet demeanor. Food came out quickly. We order 2x Tuna steaks. There are ample portions. The flavor was good but we ordered “medium” and they came out “medium rare”. Still had a fishy taste, which is usually extinguished with medium cooking. My toddler got a burger. She spit it out. I tasted it and it was very salty. No seasoning on the steamed veggies– at all. The fries are tasty. Drinks were good. Maybe a more extensive liquor/liqueur/specialty drink menu would get some more attention. This is not to bash Nick’s. We haven’t been here in about a year, but I feel like something is lacking, since. Hopefully, whoever reads this heeds it as constructive criticism. We need more diverse eatery in our area without having to drive to Lafayette. Maybe have your chefs sample some food from Luna, Spoonbill, etc to get a wave of inspo. For such a beautiful venue, you guys should be packed.

This restaurant is the best in Eunice! Visiting from Kentucky, I was impressed just by pulling on the little street that leads to the restaurant. Close by parking, Very nice entrance with brick covered patio. Seems very upscale, but it’s so comfortable with the casual style, attitudes and atmosphere. The steaks are amazing , service was great!

I have been going to this place for awhile now. I don’t always order the same thing. Everything I have ordered from the crab cakes to the steaks have been fantastic !! The corn and crab bisque is one of my favorites.
I will keep going till it gets bad, which I hope never happens !!!
Staff is great, friendly, attentive and on top their game.

Tonight, 7/20/22, my wife and I along with some good friends went to Nick’s on 2nd. We have been going to Nick’s for many years and have always loved it. Well until tonight! It’s been a while we haven’t eaten there and probably won’t be returning. It seems it is under different management sense we last ate there. The service was outstanding, the waitress was great and very attentive to our needs. I have always loved the seafood enchilada and seem to always order that dish, so tonight I ordered it again. It was so salty I couldn’t eat it. I told the waitress that I couldn’t eat the enchilada and asked for the grilled shrimp in place of the enchilada. She brought 6 shrimp that seems to have boiled first then slapped on the grill. It was terrible. My wife and one of our friends had the special, grilled catfish which was edible at best. This is so different from the many of times we have eaten there before. As far as service is concerned these guys have it together. Service was great, the food it terrible. I wrote a note on the receipt stating our dissatisfaction and asked the waitress to please give it to management, which I am sure she did. No one came to discuss it with us, very disappointing. We will not be going back nor recommending Nick’s on 2nd to anyone.

Excellent food, nice atmosphere and good service!
My husband and I went there last night and were kinda disappointed. The food is still good but my husband had two mixed drinks and he’s pretty sure if there was any alcohol is was extremely skimpy. Also, I didn’t notice till we had already left but I was supposed to get a salad with my dinner and I didn’t. I’ll probably try them again, hopefully it was an off night being it was just the day after Laura hit.

Saturday was my first time back to Nick’s since management changed and I was not pleased. The service was terrible and the food took two hours to come out, which was not tasty enough for the long wait. There was one waitress for our section that was about 6 tables full of people. The waitress admitted to being the owners daughter and she provided terrible service and an unwelcoming attitude. Nick’s will definitely need training on how to provide professional service if they will want to continue their business!

I was not very pleased with the service and food. Took over 45 minutes to get the appetizers. Waitress and manager protrade to careless, came up with excuses why the service and food were late. The excuse we got was kitchen backed up. My entree became an appetizer but I was charged the same as if I received the full order. Needless to say the mix vegetables were cold and look as though they came from Sam’s vegetable medley. I received a cup of rice and a cup of crawfish that was way over priced and again like warm. I’ve been to this restaurant before and enjoyed the service and food but tonight shed a totally different perspective. Poor little waitress had one pathic attitude, her body language and facial expressions were embarrassing. Tonight you guys went from a 4.4 to 2.3 star. Please fix whatever problems you have so customers don’t leave and you go out if business.
