Nic & Norman’s is owned by a couple of Walking Dead cast members, but the food stands on its own—no zombie hype required.
I went with the fried chicken pot pie, and it was excellent. Comfort food done right: crispy chicken, rich filling, and the kind of dish that makes you slow down and enjoy it. My wife had the power food salad with a cup of chili, which was a solid combo—fresh, filling, and balanced without feeling like a “sad salad.”
The location in Whiskey Alley is perfect, especially if you’re heading to the KFC Yum! Center for a basketball game. It’s an easy, relaxed pregame stop with good food and a cool atmosphere.
Overall, Nic & Norman’s delivers a quality meal in a great spot. Famous owners aside, this place earns its reputation the honest way—by serving good food in the right location.

We went to celebrate our sons birthdays. The place was not busy, which after eating I have no idea why it wasn’t because everything we had was fantastic. We started with the Brisket BBQ nachos and spinach dip. The nachos stole the show. The brisket was packed full of flavor and everyone’s favorite. 3 Burgers , an order of fried fish and the fried chicken pot pie were up next. The burgers were cooked perfectly and the side winder fries were my favorite. I had the chicken pot pie and it did not disappoint. While there was a lot of celery in the filling it didn’t overpower it flavor wise. My son enjoyed his fish and asparagus dish. We were too full to take the offered birthday desserts. Our waitress was attentive with out hovering and made sure we had time to enjoy out food.
We can’t wait to come back and try other dishes. Highly recommend giving it a shot.

Food was great. Staff was exceptional. Pricing was reasonable. I think the worst part about this entire experience was the parking; there was a uofl basketball game going on the day that I went to dinner. There was virtually no parking.
I would recommend looking up the owners before heading to the restaurant as it will make more sense why it’s called Nic and Normans.

The food was amazing.
I highly recommend the brisket nachos as the app. The meatloaf salmon and shrimp was all very good. The service was fast and friendly. That n and n sauce and that barbecue sauce is award winning !!!

Not from the area and needed a good lunch before a 5 hour drive. Kids accidentally spilled drinks 3 times and the staff wasn’t mad (kids were tired and write hand coord was bad today). Cheese sticks were delicious, almost like cheese curds. Burgers had great flavor but were not dripping with geese or sauce which was nice. We had the BBQ and SurfnTurf burgers. Fries were curly steak fries and really crisp. Mac n cheese was maybe pimento or garlicky. I loved it but 10 yo thought they were just okay bc they were not normal ie Kraft or Chick-fil-A style. This was a great meal. The service was excellent and our server was so kind. Kids felt so bad as did we and she was just so nice about it. We went on a Sunday at 2.

Recently made a trip to celebrate my 43rd birthday with my husband. This restaurant is a hidden gem. Absolutely loved the vibe here. Our server Jose was so friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The Food was so delicious.We will definitely be back to make more memories.

Went for lunch with my coworker, and the food was pretty decent. I got the Philly pita and it was pretty good. I want to go back and get the Mexican burger to see how it is. I think what I lived the most was the server, she was phenomenal, food came out fast and she was just a joy. You could tell how much she appreciated the restaurant (theme being from The Walking Dead) and I loved that. I wish I could remember her name because I would shout her out. Overall great experience!!

Had a group shindig here and loved it. The place wasn’t too busy so it wasn’t crowded or too loud. Staff was awesome and although I’m a pizza snob I have to say I loved their pizza! Their low end bourbon is good and affordable!! Thanks!

Kind of tucked away just behind Main Street. The setting is nice and spacious with lots of photos and memorabilia on the walls.
I had the Pork Belly Burger with corkscrew fries and was disappointed in the burger. They go through all the trouble of using a special meat blend and then skimp on seasoning. It was very bland, honestly, I’m not even sure if it had salt or pepper for a bare minimum. The coleslaw on the burger had some very hard and poky bits in it. There wasn’t a lot of pork belly and it also didn’t have much flavor.
The fries were delicious. Hot with a firm exterior and soft innards. Just the way I like my fries.
I was one of the only people at lunchtime on a Wednesday. The service was good and very attentive. My waiter offered me a to-go soda which I really appreciated.

Food is so delicious and seasoned so well ! I got the meatloaf and LOVED it, while my boyfriend and parents both got the fish and chips, which was also delicious. The pickle fries are also very yummy! On top of everything, our server was very nice and made the experience that much better. Will definitely come back!
