We’ve been here several times now and the foods has always tasted yummyliciois. Now they no longer have the fried noodles with sauce and seafood dish. It’s one of our favorite dish. They only served the few popular dishes on their menu now. They have cut the menu down compared to years ago. The favors of the dishes still the same but prices has changed drastically. I would not really recommend coming here since the prices has changed and the quality is mediocre. They already charged you for everything and now they don’t have the dishes I want to eat any more. At least the noodles dishes has meat in it compared to the last time I ordered it. I prefer coming here only when I’m craving the half Cornish hen or the rice plates. We only ordered a plate each but the waitress brought us two Cornish hen plate and the Spicy lemongrass chicken with bone plus crispy burnt rice and the side of pickle veggies. So we decided to keep it as is and my significant other devour both of the half Cornish hen all to himself. So I removed one star for the fact that she took our orders incorrectly but we didn’t want to make a fuss and kept it as is since he can finished both plates for himself. Make sure you asked to double check your order with the server or waiter. If your order can be repeated before they bring out your meal. So you don’t have them wasting food and end up with double dishes you didn’t ordered. You can give this place a try and be your own judge.

Delicious & Affordable Vietnamese Food!
Nha Hang $1.99 is a hidden gem for authentic and budget-friendly Vietnamese cuisine! The food is delicious, with generous portions at unbeatable prices. Their mì Nam Vang is flavorful, the fried Cornish hen plate is a must-try, and their chè ba màu is the best—except it doesn’t just have three colors, but seven! This is the only place that offers it. Plus, their sương sáo nước dừa is incredibly tasty! Every time I visit California, I have to stop by and buy 5–6 cups to bring back to Las Vegas and enjoy later. The owner is kind and friendly, making the experience even better.
The service is fast, and the atmosphere feels like a cozy, no-frills Vietnamese eatery. If you’re craving tasty Vietnamese food without breaking the bank, this is the place to go! Just remember to bring cash—they don’t accept cards.
Fun fact: Although the restaurant is called Nha Hang $1.99, there’s no $1.99 dish—most meals are actually $10.99!
Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The food here hasn’t changed a bit. The fried Cornish hen plate is their signature from like 30 years ago. Only the prices have changed from its original name of the restaurant. But considering the times and inflation it’s still a cheap place to eat. I don’t think they ever remodeled bc it looks pretty much the same. The service is ok, not the friendliest.

It’s no longer $2 for a meal where you can feel like a big boss ordering 3 meals. It is now $9 to $10.15. drink prices stayed the same price after 21 years. We ordered the chicken dish. Veggie, rice, egg, sauce was good. Chicken no bad. Clean restroom. Nice owner. I’m giving 5 stars because it’s 1) respect to older owners 2) would like to see this place exactly the same 21 years later.

This chicken here reminds of of a Filipino restaurant called Max’s fried chicken and it’s take out only for now due to the pandemic. Meals cost ~ $7 and you get a huge serving which I think is good enough for 2 meals if you’re not starving. Everything is delicious but I feel that the chicken could’ve used a little more seasoning so don’t forget to dip the chicken on the sauce with each bite. Other than that, this place is amazing. Great value for money and ample parking. Will definitely come back for more.

When I’m around OC, this is my go to place for Vietnamese fried chicken and rice dish with a fried egg— com ga chien! It’s only $6.75. I highly recommend this dish as it is the one everyone orders when they go here. Must try with their special house sauce! Don’t forget to bring cash as no credit cards are accepted.

I had the cornish hen with rice and fried egg. The hen was so delicious, especially with the dipping sauce. It’s one of those places where you’d consider it as a “mom & pop” shop. It had that vibe while I was here. I would come back to have that dish, or try something new. FYI, this place only takes cash.

What a nice business, friendly staff, good food and value.
Since I didn’t ever hang out in this area growing up, I didn’t know about all the awesome Vietnamese food I was missing. But I get to catch up on it now and it’s great!
Will def keep coming back here! Don’t miss out in the Cornish hen and the crack sauce! It’s famous for a reason.

This dish used to be 1.99 cents but over the years inflation has hit everything here in cali. It now costs 6x the cost on a good day. This restaurant always makes the chicken a little drier than usual from other estsblishments.
